Sharp has launched the Aquos Wish 5, a low-cost smartphone packed with practical features for people who want something simple, strong, and easy to use. With a clean design, high waterproof rating, Android 15, and safety tools this phone shows what a good budget device can look like in 2025. In this article, we will discuss everything we know about the Sharp Aquos Wish 5 including its specifications and its release date.
Aquos Wish 5 Overview
Design and Display
Sharp has given the Aquos Wish 5 a clean and colorful design. They made the body using about 60% recycled plastic, which comes in MISORA, NADESHIKO, WAKABA, YUKI, and SUMI colors all inspired by Japanese nature. Designed by Kazushige Miyake, it keeps things simple with flat edges, soft corners, and a smooth camera bump that blends in with the back.
On the front, the phone has a big 6.6-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate that makes scrolling smooth and fun to look at. Even though the resolution is just 1612 x 720, the display still looks fine for daily use, thanks to the bright panel. This phone is tough. It has top-level waterproof ratings like IPX5, IPX8, and IPX9, and also passes the MIL-STD-810H military test. That means it can handle dust, water, drops, heat, and cold. With all that protection, you don’t have to worry about using it outdoors.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a chip with two powerful 2.4GHz cores and six efficient ones, which helps it handle everyday tasks pretty smoothly. This isn’t a gaming phone, but it works well for basic apps and light multitasking.
Moreover, the device gives you 4GB of RAM and a choice between 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 2TB with a microSD card. That’s plenty of space for a budget phone. Also, with virtual memory expansion up to 4GB, switching between apps feels faster.
On the software side, it runs the latest Android 15, and Sharp promises two major Android updates and four years of security patches, which is great at this price. The 5,000mAh battery can easily last a day or more. It supports 27W fast charging through USB-C, taking around 130 minutes to fully charge. There’s also an Intelligent Charge system that stops charging at 90%, helping your battery last longer over time.

Camera and Rest
On the back, you’ll find a single 50.1MP camera. Thanks to Sharp’s ProPix Lite engine, photos come out more clearly and brighter, especially in the dark. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera, which does the job for video calls and social media.
The phone has just one speaker, but it sounds fine for watching short videos or calls. You can unlock it either by fingerprint (on the power button) or face scan, even if you’re wearing a mask.
One cool feature is the shake-to-alert emergency tool. If you shake the phone, it makes a loud alarm, calls your emergency contacts, and shares your location even if the phone is in your bag. It also has an AI call assistant that blocks scam calls and changes voicemails into text.
