Soundcore P41i Review

Design and Build

Talking about the design and build quality, the P41i feels good and premium in the hand. The charging case is a bit bulky if you compare it with other buds, but, as I have aforementioned, it doubles as a powerbank. So, on the side, you get this Type-C cable, which is also a lanyard. Opening the lid takes you to the real thing, the TWS, and also, there is a phone stand for enhancing your multimedia experience.

The charging case feels sturdy and polished, and has a neat display that shows the remaining charge and the earbuds. All in all, Soundcore does deserve some praise for this innovative design language. Speaking of the earbuds themselves, the fit is quite comfortable for my ears. And it looks premium.

The powerbank

This little guy gets paired with a charging case that has a 3000mAh battery inside. This can literally charge the earbuds up to 14 times, and as intended, this acts like a backup for your phone in an emergency. The built-in cable can provide you with 10W of charging speed, which is not fast, but at least it can get you some juice when your phone’s battery goes dead or alarmingly low.

Audio

The audio quality of these earbuds is quite engaging and fun, though noticeably bass-heavy. The mid-bass delivers a strong rumble that can sometimes feel a bit too much, but if you enjoy genres like trap or phonk, you will probably like the extra punch. For example, in the classic blues track “The Thrill Is Gone” by B.B. King, the mid-bass has a lingering rumble that adds warmth, but at times it can overpower the vocals, making them sound slightly muffled or cloudy under the bass.

In more acoustic genres, instruments such as guitars and pianos have a gentle and slightly warm tone, giving them a natural and pleasing sound. When listening to tracks with brighter, high-pitched instruments, like “Hotel California (Remastered 2013)” by the Eagles, the sound remains comfortable and never feels sharp or piercing.

Presets

The app offers over 20 EQ presets, catering to a variety of preferences. For audio enthusiasts or audiophiles, there’s also an 8-band equalizer, giving you full control to fine-tune the sound to your specific taste.

Additionally, the earbuds support dual-device connectivity, which is a nice feature for those who like to switch between devices without the hassle of disconnecting and reconnecting.

ANC Modes

The ANC isn’t the strongest point of these earbuds. It does reduce the overall volume of surrounding sounds, but most loud noises still come through when you’re not playing music. Sudden sounds like door slams or laughter aren’t well filtered, though it does reduce consistent noises, like a barking dog at night or motorcycle engine sound.

Meanwhile, the transparency mode works quite well. While I don’t recommend it, I’ve tested it while being outdoors and listening to music, and it performs effectively. It lets in important environmental sounds like honking and passing vehicles, helping me identify where the sounds are coming from. I’d rate it 8/10 for transparency performance.

Call Quality

Let’s talk about the call quality. The microphone sounds a bit dark to my taste during video calls and normal calls in indoor situations. When I use the earbuds for calls while riding my bike with the visor open, the audio tends to sound slightly metallic, and sometimes my voice dips out, making it hard for the other person to understand me. Wind noise is also quite noticeable to the person on the other end during higher speeds.

Soundcore P41i Review: Conclusion

The Soundcore P41i impresses with its innovative design, combining wireless earbuds with a built-in power bank. The earbuds deliver fun, bass-heavy sound, perfect for genres like trap or phonk, though the mid-bass can sometimes overpower vocals. The charging case is sturdy and practical, offering up to 14 full charges for the earbuds and even acting as a backup power source for your phone in emergencies.

While the ANC and call quality aren’t perfect, the earbuds offer good features like customizable EQ, dual-device connectivity, and an effective transparency mode. For the price, the Soundcore P41i is a solid option for those looking for a versatile pair of earbuds that go beyond just audio performance.
