Vivo launched the V40 SE in Europe a few months back and now the company is taking the same route for the regular V40 as well. The titular phone of the series is pretty similar to the Vivo S19 Series, which is a China-only offering. Anyway, let’s take a look at the Vivo V40 5G in further detail and also discuss its potential price in Nepal.

Vivo V40 5G Overview

Design and Display

The Vivo V40 5G comes in a matte finish with curved edges and a large pill-shaped camera island. This phone measures only 7.58 mm in thickness and appears visibly slim too. Furthermore, the back panel on this thing is glass and comes with IP68 dust and water resistance. It ships in Nebula Purple and Stellar Silver colourways.

On the front, you are looking at a curved screen that measures 6.78 inches diagonally. The panel on the Vivo V40 5G is an AMOLED with a 1,260 x 2,800 pixels resolution. Moreover, this display is capable of up to 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. It is also a very vibrant screen with 100% DCI-P3 and 105% NTSC colour gamut.

Performance

For performance, the Vivo V40 5G comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. This silicon has eight cores, clocks in at a maximum of 2.63 GHz, and is fabricated on TSMC‘s 4nm procedure. At this time, it is one of the best midrange chipsets and should perform decently.

Additionally, the latest Vivo offering is available in two configurations. The lower comes in an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage combo while the higher one is a 12GB + 256GB trim. The RAM in here is an LPDDR4x while the storage is a UFS 2.2 type ROM. Unfortunately, there is no MicroSD card slot meaning no storage expansion option here. The Vivo V40 5G boots on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.

Camera and Battery

The optics department is filled with 50MP shooters across the board. This is to say that the primary, the ultrawide, as well as the selfie cameras, are all 50MP in resolution. Meanwhile, the rear cameras are a partnership with ZEISS to offer a high-end photography experience.

In the tank, the Vivo V40 5G packs a large 5,500 mAh battery that supports 80W of fast charging. However, this time around the company has decided to not include a charger in the box for some reason.
