I guess Lionel Messi did make MLS a relevant league once, which was ignored by almost everyone, until David Beckham made his move to the league back in 2007. His (Messi’s) debut in MLS made a massive surge in viewership (doubling of Season Pass subscribers and  29% jump in weekly viewership) speaks for itself. And now, Apple’s making it even easier to watch the league by bundling all MLS content into its standard Apple TV subscription at no extra cost. Now, let’s jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about Apple TV’s latest announcement regarding MLS streaming, including what this means for subscribers and availability.

Apple TV’s MLS Streaming Deal Overview

The big change

Apple tv MLS DEAL

It’s official now. Starting with the 2026 season, all Major League Soccer matches will be available to stream on Apple TV at no extra cost. This is a massive shift from the current system, where users have to buy a Season Pass for $15 a month just to watch MLS content. The interesting thing here is that even existing Apple TV subscribers didn’t get any discount on the Season Pass. They had to pay the full $15 monthly fee on top of their $13 Apple TV subscription.

What you’ll get

If you have an Apple TV subscription, you’ll be able to watch every regular-season match, the annual Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and more. The current MLS Season Pass subscription will end at the end of the 2025 season.

Apple already tested this approach by making the 2025 MLS Cup playoffs free to watch for all Apple TV subscribers. That was essentially a dry run for this bigger announcement. And it’s not just about the matches either. Apple TV will offer studio programming and related on-demand streaming content for soccer fans who want more than just live games.

More sports content included

Besides Soccer (or in better words, football), Apple TV already offers Friday Night Baseball for free to subscribers. The company also recently secured exclusive broadcast rights in the US for Formula 1 races, and all of that content will be available at no extra cost. This is probably why the MLS Season Pass system had to go. Apple is consolidating its sports content under one subscription instead of fragmenting it across multiple paywalls.

Availability

The free MLS streaming will begin with the 2026 season. Current MLS Season Pass subscribers can continue using their subscription until the end of the 2025 season. After that, all you’ll need is a standard Apple TV subscription to access all MLS content.
