Asus is a Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer that produces gamer-centric devices. They have been making gaming phones for quite some time now. Now, they have launched their ninth iteration of the ROG Phone series. Let’s look at the nitty-gritty of the Asus ROG Phone 9 along with its expected price in Nepal.
Asus ROG Phone 9 Overview
Design and Display
The Asus ROG Phone 9 looks pretty much the same as its predecessor. However, there is a key difference — AniMe Vision. It is a similar take to the company’s AniMe Matrix seen in laptops. It is an array of 85 programmable mini-LEDs that can display various animations. Other than that, it comes in Storm White and Phantom Black colour options.
On the front, it has a silky-smooth AMOLED panel that can reach refresh rates of up to 185Hz. This smoothness can only be achieved through Asus’ Game Genie. Otherwise, the phone can only be pushed to 165Hz through regular settings. Moreover, the display offers up to 2,500 nits peak brightness and FHD+ resolution while recovering 103.16% NTSC colour gamut. On top of that, Asus ROG Phone 9 has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 layering for screen protection.
Performance
Given that this phone was built to be a gaming beast, it is a no-brainer that it has the most potent chipset in the market — Snapdragon 8 Elite. While it has the raw power needed, it pairs that up with GameCool 9 technology to help maintain sustained performance. It is a multi-layer cooling system complete with enlarged graphene sheets.
Additional performance hardware on the Asus ROG Phone 9 includes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It comes in two configurations: 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB. In the tank, it has a 5,800 mAh battery with up to 65W charging speed support. Likewise, the phone boots on Android 15 with ROG UI and comes with handy-dandy AI features like call translator, transcription, circle to search, and so on.

Camera
The camera isn’t half bad either. It has a 50MP primary camera with a Sony Lytia 700 sensor and a six-axis gimbal. There are two auxiliary lenses in the rear camera system — an ultrawide and a macro shooter. The former is a 13MP unit while the latter is a 5MP one. Similarly, the front camera is a 32MP RGBW snapper.
