Starting off the design, all of these laptops have a plastic build. Although this is not necessarily a criticism, this is what you’d get at this price. Anyway, these devices are still very lightweight. The Go 14 weighs only 1.38 kg and comes in Mixed Black, Cool Silver, or Grey Green. It's also true that none of these colour names is as interesting as they sound. 

On the display side, the Vivobook Go laptops come with pretty average screens. This laptop features 60Hz FHD panels at 250 nits with 45% NTSC coverage. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with these panels exactly, as they are anti-glare, readable indoors, and fine for YouTube and documents. They are just not remarkable in any way, and 250 nits is not good enough for laptops that is supposed to be taken anywhere near a window. All of them get a 720p webcam with a physical privacy shutter.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Despite being a budget laptop, Asus has managed to include its signature "ErgoSense" keyboard on the Vivobook Go 14, which raises the bottom chassis slightly, making it easy for users to type on. Likewise, it also helps in thermals and audio performance. The keys are dashed and boast a 1.4mm key travel.

Due to size limitations, there is no dedicated number pad. That said, the provided touchpad can double as a virtual number pad whenever you need to crunch numbers into the system.

Performance and Memory

As for performance, you can choose between  i3-N305, Intel Celeron N4500, Ryzen 3 7320U, and Ryzen 5 7520U. All three ships are quite capable, and if you are a student who needs to browse, write assignments, and join Zoom calls, these ships are fine. But anything beyond that, they aren’t particularly useful. 

The memory situation in these machines is also not particularly great either. They come with either 8 GB or 16 GB, depending on the variant you choose. Similarly, the storage is 512GB PCIe 3.0.
