Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra launched with 50MP Sony LYTIA camera sensor

A few days ago, we were expecting the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra to launch in the first week of February, and as anticipated, the phone is now available. In this article, we’ll dive into the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra’s specifications and its price in Nepal.

Design and Display

Asus Zenphones once known for their compact designs now ship with much larger dimensions like the Zephone 12 Ultra which measures 163.8 x 77.0 x 8.9mm. On the design side, the new Zenphone Ultra features a sleek, monotone finish, making it aesthetically pleasing. There’s a rectangular camera island with three lenses and an LED flash. And the 12 Ultra also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Switching to the front, Zenfone 12 Ultra boasts a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR display with a 144Hz LTPO refresh rate. It also offers 2500 nits of peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added scratch and impact resistance.

Performance

Under the hood, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is powered by the Octa-Core Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) SoC, which features 2 x Oryon (Phoenix L) cores clocking at 4.32 GHz and 6 x Oryon (Phoenix M) cores clocked at 3.53 GHz. Moreover, the graphics are handled by the Adreno 830 GPU.

For memory, it comes with options of 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB (UFS 4.0). The phone runs on Android 15 with Zen UI.

Camera and Battery

The teaser image of the Zenfone 12 Ultra gives us a hint that something different is happening with the cameras this time. The rear camera includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700/1.56’’ sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and 6-axis gimbal stabilization. It also has a 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera and a 32MP 3x telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and OIS. For selfies, it comes with a 32MP front-facing camera.

Moreover, the phone is equipped with a 5500mAh battery that supports 65W HyperCharge fast charging, Quick Charge 5.0, and PD Charging. Additionally, it supports 15W Qi wireless charging.

Connectivity and Rest

The Zenfone 12 Ultra features Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also comes with dual speakers and a 5-magnet stereo speaker for enhanced audio quality. The phone also comes with some AI features like AI transcript, AI tracking, and AI call translator.

Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra Price in Nepal and Availability

The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra is priced at NT$ 29,990 for the 12GB/256GB model. When it becomes available in Nepal, we can expect the price to start around NPR 132,000.
