Asus Vivobook series (2022) with 12th Gen Intel CPUs now in Nepal

Nagmani International, the official distributor for Asus, has refreshed the Vivobook lineup with the new 12th gen model. In this article, we will discuss the specs, features, official price, and availability of the 12th Gen Asus Vivobook 14/15 (2022) in Nepal.

Design and Display

Asus offers the 2022 iteration of the Vivobook notebook in two sizes: 14-inch and 15-inch. Other than the display size, there’s very little separating the 12th Gen Vivobook 14 and 15. Despite the different display sizes, both laptops boast an 82% screen-to-body ratio, 178° viewing angle, and TUV Rheinland low blue light certification.

The screen is held by a hinge that can open 180 °, allowing users to lay it flat on the table. You get aluminum chassis on both Vivobook 14 and 15. Unsurprisingly, the former is both lighter and thinner. The metal surface of these laptops receives a special anti-bacterial treatment which Asus calls Anti-bacterial Guard.

Performance and Cooling

The 2022 iteration of the Asus Vivobook series (14/15) features the latest 12th Gen Intel CPUs. You can choose between three options: Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1235U, and Core-1255U. Asus even offer the 2022 Vivbooks with the 12th Gen P-series CPUs, but it’s not available in Nepal.

The cooling system on these new Vivobook laptops features dual heat pipes and a single 87-blade IceBlade fan. As per Asus, this new setup allows 30% higher airflow and 10% noise reduction.

Memory and Upgradability

Depending upon the hardware configuration, you get 4GB or 8GB of DDR4 RAM. The RAM slots are user-accessible and thus, can be upgraded down the line. You can upgrade the RAM up to 12GB and 16GB, depending upon the models. As for storage, users can choose between 128GB, 2556GB, and 512GB SSD.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The Vivobook 14 and 15 (2022) come with Asus’s ErgoSense keyboard. The keys have a travel of 1.4mm and have dished key caps to match users’ fingertips. You also get the option for monochrome backlighting on the keyboard as well.

As for the touchpad, you get the usual Windows Precision one on the Vivobook 15 with the option to add a fingerprint scanner. The smaller Vivobook 14 adds an option for NumberPad 2.0 that lets you use the touchpad as a num pad. However, it skips on the fingerprint scanner.

Rest of the specs

Fueling the new Asus Vivobook 14/15 (2022) laptops are 42WHr batteries. The 12th Intel P-series models ships with 65W adapters, whereas the U-series models in Nepal, come with 45W adapters. The port selection is the same across all variants of Asus Vivobook 14 and 15 (2022). You get a USB-C, two USB-A, one HDMI, and one combined audio jack.

The price of the Asus Vivobook 14 and 15 starts at Rs. 71,111 for the base 12th Gen Intel Core i3 variant with 4GB RAM and 256GB storage.  Similarly, Core i5 and Core i7 variants with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD cost Rs. 101,111 and 122,222, respectively.
