boAt is back in the smart ring arena with its ‘Smart Ring Active’ offering. The company launched its first back last August and seems like a refresh is now here. The Boat Ring Active is minimal in design and made up of stainless steel. It has a polished edge on the outside and weighs less than 5 grams so wearing one should feel just as natural as any other. On the inside, there are a number of sensors to track different health matrices. 

Durability-wise, you get a 5 ATM water resistance rating against sweat and splashes. The ring is available in 6 sizes and 3 color options offering a fit for everyone out there. The ring sizes available range from 7 to 12 with circumferences measuring 53 – 70mm. Although the original Boat Smart Ring was only available in a single colorway, now you get the option to choose between ‘Midnight Black’, ‘Rose Gold’, and ‘Radiant Silver’.

Health and fitness tracking 

One of the major selling points of a smart ring is 24/7 health tracking. The Boat Smart Ring Active measures your heart rate, and blood oxygen, and tracks your stress levels throughout the day. During sleep, the Boat smart ring tracks your sleep stages and provides a detailed insight into the duration and quality of your sleep.

The ring also measures steps walked, calories burnt, and distance traveled alongside support for over 20 sports modes. There are coaching tutorials and personalized fitness plans you can access via the ‘Crest’ smartphone app to start and track your fitness journey.

The Boat Smart Ring Active supposedly offers up to 5 days of endurance on a full charge. With the magnetic charging case, you get up to a month. Other features include the ability to control your smartphone remotely with touch gestures so you can do things like play/pause music and take pictures from afar.
