Realme: Brand Overview
Realme is one of the newest yet most impactful players in the smartphone space. Founded in 2018, Realme started out as a sub-brand of OPPO eventually venturing off as its own brand. It is a Chinese consumer electronics brand with the "dare to leap" primarily focused on smartphones and complementary devices. Realme was initially founded to rival Xiaomi's Redmi lineup both of which target youths and millennials with budget-friendly feature-rich smartphones. Today Realme's number series is a direct competitor to Redmi's Note lineup of smartphones. Alongside that, they also have flagships and Narzo devices which serve their respective niches as well. Besides smartphones, Realme also sells tablets, earbuds, power banks, smart TVs, smartwatches, and other IoT devices.
Realme in Nepal
Realme smartphones are extremely popular in Nepal. Be it the best value Number Series, the exciting GT Pro series, or the glamourous Narzo series. But they've had the furthest thing from smooth sailing. Realme initially entered the Nepalese market in 2019 with Jagadamba Mobiles as their national distributor (ND). Later, they changed their ND to Pashupati Tradeline Pvt. Ltd. But regardless of the distributor, Nepalese Realme Phones were overpriced and after public scrutiny followed by a huge backlash, they were forced to take a different approach. Realme re-entered Nepal in August 2021 with Shankar Group as their new ND. To prevent the same mistakes, Shankar Group promised aggressive pricing among other things.

Realme Series Explained
Realme C Series
The entry point into Realme’s lineup and often answer to “what’s Realme’s cheapest phone?”. Built for light everyday users rather than power users. These phones focus on basics like large batteries , big screen and decent daylight photography without huge power needed for gaming and heavier tasks. A solid pick if you mainly need a phone for calls , messaging and browsing .
Realme Number Series
By far the most popular Realme smartphone lineup among Nepali buyers, and for good reason. Most Number series phones stay under Rs. 40,000 while still delivering strong performance, good battery life , large displays and a 50MP main camera as standard. For those wanting more ,Realme also offers Pro variants within this series that push specs further without stepping into flagship pricing.
Realme Narzo Series
Designed for buyers who want their phone to stand out from the crowd. Narzo devices lean into bold, distinct designs paired with reliable everyday specs, smooth displays, solid battery life, and affordable pricing, all while staying firmly targeted at budget-conscious users looking for style without paying a premium.
Realme GT Series
Realme's flagship phone tier, and the answer to "what if you want Realme's best?" Led currently by the GT 8 Pro, GT series phones bring top-tier chipsets, standout camera systems, fast charging speeds, and eye-catching designs. Built for buyers who want a genuinely fluid, high-performance experience without compromise, this is where Realme competes directly with the biggest flagship names.

Realme 5G Phones in Nepal
Most current Realme phones sold in Nepal, from the Number series to the GT flagship, now come with 5G support as standard. As with other brands, Nepal's 5G network coverage is still limited, so most users will run on 4G for now, with 5G ready as coverage expands.
Realme Flagship Phones in Nepal
The GT series represents Realme's flagship tier, with the GT 8 Pro currently sitting at the top. It brings a 50MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, alongside a large 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Is Redmi the Same as Realme?
No, they're different brands entirely. Redmi is Xiaomi's budget sub-brand, while Realme is its own independent company that originally started as a sub-brand of OPPO before splitting off in 2018. Both target the same budget-conscious, youth-focused audience in Nepal with similarly priced Number/Note series phones, which is why they're often compared, but they have separate distributors, service networks, and ownership.
