Dell Reintroduces the XPS 16, Redefining Premium Laptops at CES 2026!

Dell made a surprising move in 2025 by dropping all its laptop sub-brands—except Alienware—and even retiring the most popular XPS lineup in favor of a generic naming scheme as “Dell Premium”. Just one year later, at CES 2026, Dell reversed their decision and officially brought XPS back with the announcement of the Dell XPS 16 (DA16260). So, yeah, in this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about these new devices, including their specs, features, and price.

Dell XPS 16 Overview:

Build and Display

Starting with the build, the all-new Dell XPS 16 offers a similar premium, durable design that we see on the XPS 14 models. The chassis of the Dell XPS 16 is made out of CNC-milled aluminium, with Gorilla Glass 3 protecting the palm rest. The overall design looks premium and durable. The device also weighs around 1.65kg, which is quite less for a 16-inch device.

Now, let's move to my personal favourite part of these devices, the display. Here we get two options to pick from, one comes with a 16-inch 2K (1920x1200 pixels) InfinityEdge non-touch display, which has a peak brightness of around 500 nits and even covers 100% sRGB color coverage and next we have a more better OLED version which comes with 16-inch 3.2K (3200x2000 pixels) infinityEdge display but here we even get a touch display which comes with outstanding 100% DCI-P3 colors and even  VESA DisplayHDR Truebalck 500 certified. Both displays feature a 120Hz variable refresh rate that can drop to 1Hz to conserve power.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, we get the latest from Intel, i.e., the Intel Panther Lake CPUs, which include both basic 8-core CPUs featuring Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355, and a much more powerful CPU as Intel Core Ultra X7 385H and Intel Core X9 388H CPU featuring  16 core CPU with a boost clock of 5.1 GHz. Regarding graphics, it includes the latest ARC Graphics.

As AI is booming currently, these chips are AI-ready as they deliver 50 TOPS from the new NPU in the latest Panther Lake CPUs.

For memory, we get up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 4TB of PCIe Gen 5 SSD, which is more than enough for every task we throw at it. But note that the 32/64GB variant is only available with Intel’s 358 and 388H chipset where as 16GB is standard for Intel 325 and 355 chipsets.

Connectivity and More…

Talking about connectivity, this all-new XPS 16 comes with three Thunderbolt 4 ports with support for DisplayPort 2.1 and a 3.5mm headphone mic combo for physical connectivity. For wireless connectivity, we get standard  WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

Additionally, talking about the battery, we get a 70Wh battery pack that powers the notebook, and a 100W adapter is present in the box for charging. Dell has claimed up to 40 hours of local video playback in their testing.

Additionally, for speakers, we get a quad-speaker setup that consists of a 3W main unit and 2W tweeters. So, we get an immersive sound experience, with a total of 10W output and Dolby Atmos tuning.

Dell XPS 16 (2026) Expected Price in Nepal

The all-new Dell XPS 16 (DA16260) base variant will start at USD 2199 for the Graphite model, while the additional configurations are said to arrive in February.
