      DJI Osmo Mobile 8 Overview

      Design and Build

The Osmo Mobile 8 matches the Osmo Mobile 7P's dimensions—190×95×46 mm folded and 288×107×96 mm unfolded—and weighs just 2 grams more than its predecessor. But it upgrades the design with a stronger fourth-generation magnetic clamp for larger phones and an integrated joystick with extra control buttons.

      DJI Osmo Mobile 8 Design

The Osmo Mobile 8 features 3-axis gimbal stabilization, but its 360-degree unlimited horizontal rotation is the standout feature. This allows you to capture smooth panoramic 360 photos and videos while tracking subjects. It supports pitch (tilt), roll, and yaw (pan) as usual, and the upgraded tracking module adds features like audio recording and a fill light with adjustable brightness and color temperature

The gimbal retains the Osmo Mobile 7's built-in tripod legs and 8.4-inch telescoping extension rod for low-angle shots. DJI added a counterweight mount to balance the gimbal when you attach larger lenses or bulky accessories. The multifunctional module on the side works as a wireless receiver for DJI microphones, tracks animals like dogs and cats, and controls stabilizer movements across multiple camera apps. The Osmo Mobile 8 supports Apple's DockKit for autonomous subject tracking.

      Shooting Features

The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 includes the upgraded ActiveTrack 7.0, which debuted on the Osmo Mobile 7P. This system improves stability and tracking over long distances. You can enable dual-camera tracking through the DJI Mimo app.
