Earlier this year, Honor unveiled four premium 5G devices under the Honor 30 series. And now, it has expanded the series with an affordable Honor 30 Lite. It is still a 5G device but is way cheaper than its siblings. Read along to know more about the new Honor 30 Lite, including its specs, features, expected price, and availability in Nepal.

Honor 30 Lite Overview

Design and Display

Honor 30 Lite features a 6.5-inch display. Unlike its expensive siblings, the display it sports is an LCD panel. On the bright side, it supports the 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch response rate. The display features a waterdrop style on the top, houses the front-facing camera.

On the back, we see the familiar-looking rectangular camera module on the top left corner. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side.

Performance and Memory

Honor 30 Lite is the first phone in its lineup to feature a MediaTek processor. Up until now, the Honor 30 lineup made use of Huawei’s in-house Kirin chipset. The chip used here is the MediaTek Dimensity 800. The 7nm SoC features four Cortex A76 and four Cortex A5, all of which are clocked at 2 GHz. It has an integrated modem for 5G connectivity.

The smartphone comes in three memory configurations. The base variant couples 6GB of RAM with 64 internal storage. The top model scales it to 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. There is also a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can slot in Huawei’s proprietary NM card in place of the second SIM card to expand the storage.

Camera

Honor 30 Lite flaunts a 48MP triple camera setup on the back. The primary camera sports 1/2″ sensor and an aperture of f/1.8. It also supports EIS. There is an 8MP camera for ultra-wide shots. Similarly, a 2MP sensor is included for background blur in portrait shots. It lacks a telephoto lens which is there in other Honor 30 devices. These three cameras are aligned vertically inside a rectangular camera bump, alongside an LED flash.

On the front, there is a 16MP sensor for selfies.

Battery and Others

Powering the device is a massive 4,000mAh battery. It supports 22.5W wired charging via USB Type-C port. Honor claims the charger can fill the device from 0 to 50% in around 30 minutes. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor but you can also use the face unlock feature.

It runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.0 on top. Needless to say, it doesn’t come with Google Mobile Services.
