HONOR is no stranger to smartphones, having spent more than a decade building everything from affordable handsets to flagship foldables. But now, the company is taking a familiar name in a slightly different direction.

The HONOR CHOICE name, previously seen on affordable ecosystem products like earbuds and smartwatches, is now making its way into smartphones with the CHOICE T10. The phone has officially launched and is also coming soon to Nepal, bringing a new option to the entry-level segment.

Design and Display

The HONOR CHOICE T10 keeps things simple with a clean, practical design suited to its entry-level positioning. It comes in Black and Silver color options and measures 168.8 x 78.4 x 8.8mm. The phone also features a large footprint, which is mainly due to its sizeable display on the front.

Speaking of the display, the CHOICE T10 sports a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with a 1600 x 720-pixel HD+ resolution. The larger screen should provide plenty of space for everyday activities such as scrolling through social media, browsing the web, watching videos, and reading. The IPS LCD panel is also designed to offer consistent colors and wide viewing angles, making content easier to view from different positions.

Despite its budget positioning, the phone also gets some attention to durability. The CHOICE T10 is rated to withstand drops from up to 1 meter under laboratory testing conditions. This adds some reassurance for everyday bumps and accidental drops, although it does not mean the phone is completely damage-proof. HONOR also notes that the device can still suffer damage depending on the circumstances of a drop or collision.

Performance and Memory

The HONOR CHOICE T10 is powered by the UNISOC octa-core chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for the Nepal-bound variant. The phone also supports RAM Turbo, which uses part of the internal storage as virtual memory to help with multitasking.

For additional storage, the phone features a hybrid SIM slot that can accommodate a TF card, allowing users to expand the available storage beyond the built-in 64GB.

For photography, the HONOR CHOICE T10 comes with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus, accompanied by a 5MP front-facing camera with fixed focus. The setup is fairly basic, as expected from an entry-level smartphone, and is primarily suited for everyday photos, video calls, and casual snapshots.

The autofocus on the main camera should make it easier to capture subjects at different distances, while the front camera handles selfies and video calls. There is also a more interesting use for the cameras, as the phone can recognize and translate text captured through the camera.

One of the more unusual aspects of the HONOR CHOICE T10 is its focus on translation.

The phone supports offline translation, including text-to-text translation in 58 languages, text-to-speech in 46 languages, and speech-to-speech translation in 15 languages.

It also offers AI simultaneous interpretation across 78 languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. HONOR claims the speech recognition system can reach up to 98% accuracy and handle speech at up to 200 words per minute under its testing conditions.

The phone additionally supports image translation across 32 languages and includes an AI encyclopedia Q&A feature powered by a 1-billion-parameter AI model.

Connectivity and Other Features

The HONOR CHOICE T10 supports 4G connectivity, with HONOR listing theoretical download speeds of up to 150Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps.

For calls and recordings, it uses dual-microphone noise cancellation to reduce background noise. The phone also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
