Honor’s next flip phone, the “Magic V Flip 2”, is launching next week

Honor has officially confirmed that it’s launching the Magic V Flip 2 next week. It’s the successor to the original Magic V Flip, and it seems Honor will once again be collaborating with fashion designer Jimmy Choo for this guy. So let’s jump into all the details regarding its launch, specs, and availability.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 Overview

A new design

The official images show that the Magic V Flip 2 will come with 4 tints. Those being white, purple, grey, and blue jewel. The blue jewel design will be the special edition in collaboration with designer Jimmy Choo. There was also a special edition for the Magic V Flip featuring Mr. Choo.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 design

Honor has decided to keep the large external display as seen in the Honor Magic V Flip. However, it will come with a dual-camera setup now. This change will replace the previously mismatched lens that we found in its predecessor.

Along with that, the flash will be placed in the lower half of the phone, which was done to maximize usable screen area. We will also be seeing an edge-to-edge 4-inch cover screen, one of the largest in its segment.

From what we know so far, the Magic V Flip 2 will feature a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 80W charging. The company plans to equip the device with a 50MP main camera, and we’re hoping the second camera is a telephoto unit this time. And unfolded, it will host a 6.8-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED display.

A Snapdragon chip

When it comes to performance, the Magic V Flip 2 is said to have the Snapdragon 8 series chipset. The first-gen Magic V Flip had Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so we’re expecting Honor to follow a similar pattern this time as well. By maybe going with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

The Magic V Flip 2 will be available in 12/16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It will run on Honor’s MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15.

The Magic V Flip 2 is officially arriving in China on August 21. And given the first-gen Magic V Flip sold at a starting price of CNY 4,999 (~ USD 699 / 60,999 / NPR 97,699).
