Honor has officially launched the Play 20C, adding another phone to its budget dual-screen lineup just a few months after the Play 20A. While it retains the rear mini-screen, a 13MP main camera, and a 6,000mAh battery, the new model features a slightly smaller 6.78-inch display and a Unisoc chipset instead of the Play 20A’s MediaTek processor. In this article, I’ll cover everything about the Honor Play 20C, including its specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

Key Highlights

6.78-inch 90Hz HD+ LCD display with 600 nits of brightness and a 2.01-inch rear mini-touchscreen.

Honor Play 20C Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Honor Play 20C retains the dual-screen aesthetic of its predecessor, the Play 20A, with a small touchscreen on the back alongside the rear camera module. The rear mini-screen measures 2.01 inches and gives the phone a distinctive look compared with other budget phones.

The phone measures 8.72 mm thick and weighs around 214 g, so it is not exactly a lightweight phone. For durability, it comes with an IP52 rating, offering basic protection against dust and light water exposure. It is available in Forest Green, Sunrise Gold, and Midnight Black color options.

Moving to the display, the Honor Play 20C features a slightly smaller 6.78-inch LCD panel, compared to the 6.9-inch screen on the previous model. It delivers an HD+ resolution of 1576 x 720 pixels. Additionally, the panel supports a 90Hz refresh rate, offering a smoother scrolling experience. It also reaches up to 600 nits of peak brightness, making it ideal for comfortable indoor visibility, though it may struggle a bit under harsh direct sunlight.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Honor Play 20C is powered by a Unisoc T610 chipset for most variants, except the 4/128GB model, which gets the slightly higher Unisoc T615 SoC. Both chipsets are suitable for everyday tasks such as browsing, messaging, and other light multitasking efficiently. The phone is configured with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, which is expandable by up to 1TB via a microSD card.

On the software side, the Honor Play 20C runs Android 16 (Go edition), a lightweight version of Android designed for entry-level phones with limited memory and storage. However, Honor has not specified how many Android version updates or how long it will provide security updates for this model.

Camera and Battery

For photography, the Honor Play 20C is similar to its older sibling, featuring a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls. The rear camera supports autofocus, up to 4x digital zoom, and video recording at up to 1080p. The secondary screen also lets you frame selfies using the main camera and capture them with a tap.

Coming to endurance, the Honor Play 20C packs a 6,000mAh battery, just like the Play20A. It should last through a full day of regular use, although actual battery life will depend on your usage. The phone supports 15W wired charging.
