Honor launches the new Play 50 Plus with 6,000 mAh battery

Honor, the offshoot brand of Huawei, has now launched a new smartphone under its Play series. Here in this article, we will discuss the new Honor Play 50 Plus, along with its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and so on.

Display and Design

The Honor Play 50 Plus is a rounded rectangle phone sporting a reflective wavy design on the back. The phone has a camera island on its top left corner with two large camera cutouts. It measures 166.70 x 76.50 x 8.24 mm while weighing 199 grams. Meanwhile, it is available in four colour options: Magic Night Black, Mo Yuquing (Green), Star Purple, and Streaming Silver.

Up in front, we have a flat display with a centre-aligned hole-punch camera cutout. Specifically, it is a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Furthermore, it sports an aspect ratio of 20:09 while offering 850 nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Performance and Camera

The Honor Play 50 Plus relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset for its processing duties. It is available in two memory and storage configurations: 8+256GB and 12+256GB. In terms of software, it ships with Magic OS 7.2 which is based on Android 13.

In terms of camera, this smartphone offers a dual camera setup on the back. This includes a 50-megapixel primary shooter together with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Likewise, this phone has an 8-megapixel camera on the front.

Battery and the rest

Powering the entire system is a massive 6,000 mAh battery coupled with 35W fast charging capability. Furthermore, the Honor Play 50 Plus comes with a dual speaker setup with Hi-Res audio support. It also offers dual SIM support with 5G, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connectivity. In contrast, it offers wired connectivity via USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, you get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and navigation support.

Honor Play 50 Plus Price in Nepal and Availability

At this time, the new smartphone has been released in China only with a price of CNY 1,399 for the 12 + 256 GB variant. However, Honor has not said if their new offering will be available worldwide. Nonetheless, if and when it does make its way here, we expect Honor Play 50 Plus price in Nepal to be around NPR 32,000.
