Acer Nitro 7

We start with the Acer Nitro 7 equipped with 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics. It is an above-average gaming laptop at this price segment and contains sturdy components. Design-wise you’ll not fool anyone at your office as it gives out a gaming vibe.

With the GTX 1650, you are getting a slightly better GTX 1050Ti. However, having said that, you’ll be able to run most games on this rig albeit only in a medium setting. The reason why this device features at the beginning of this list is because I feel that its 256GB storage is not justified. Especially because around the same price you can get other laptops with similar specs and that too with bigger storage.

Acer Nitro 7 Specifications
Display 15.6″ diagonal FHD (1920 x 1080) 60Hz IPS
CPU Intel Core i7-9750H

MSI GF63

Moving on, we have the MSI GF63. It is a light gaming laptop that weighs just around 1.85Kg. Now that’s a rarity with gaming laptops! However, don’t let its size fool you as it is equipped with a powerful 9th Gen Intel Core i7-9750 processor. As for the graphics, it has the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q.

MSI GF63 Thin

I know that the 1650 Max-Q is slightly less powerful than the standard 1650. However, the difference is so minimal that you won’t notice a huge difference. Furthermore, by adding around Rs.1800 to the price of the Nitro 7, you are getting bigger 512GB storage out here. And a thin & light laptop with huge storage is not something that the Nitro 7 guarantees.

Lenovo Legion Y540 i5

Next up on our list is the Lenovo Legion Y540. It is a midrange gaming laptop in Lenovo’s Legion lineup and features a 9th Gen Intel Core i5-9300H processor. Though the device is highly customizable, the one available under 150K in Nepal only has the Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card. Design-wise, despite having a plastic built, the laptop looks very premium. It has a thick base and thus feels robust for everyday use.

The Legion Y540 also comes with a fairly color-accurate panel with 91% sRGB color gamut coverage. It also comes with a sturdier design, especially the hinge.

Asus ROG Strix G531GT

Moving on we have the ROG Strix G531GT. It is a great affordable gaming laptop that boasts specs such as the 9th gen Intel CPU and GTX 1650 graphics card. Furthermore, its stellar design and sturdy build quality make it even more appealing. To add more delight while playing games, Asus ROG Strix G531GT display flaunts a remarkable 120Hz refresh rate

Its design gives out that gaming device kind of vibe, especially due to the positioning of the air vents and the RGB strip at the base. And though it’s built mainly consists of plastic, the device seems sturdy enough. Asus also claims the display color coverage is 100% sRGB, hence it could be a good option for casual graphics designers as well.

Dell G3 3590

The Dell G-series laptop has always been one of the best value for money gaming laptops. And the new Dell G3 3590 does exactly that. It features Intel 9th GenCore i5-9300H processor and the Nvidia GeForce 1660Ti Max-Q GPU. The 1660Ti Max-Q is a much better option than the GTX 650. Hence, the G3 is a perfect midrange laptop for playing high-end AAA games in high settings at 60fps. DELL G3 3590 i5 display

Furthermore, in the Dell G3 3590, you get 512GB of SSD along with 8GB of RAM. My suggestion is you get an extra 8GB of RAM and make it dual-channel for even better performance and reliability.

Display 15.6″ diagonal FHD (1920 x 1080), 59% sRGB, 60Hz IPS

Acer Predator Helios 300

The Acer Predator Helios 300 offers the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti, which is a much better GPU than the GTX 1650 and the 1660Ti MaxQ variant. Similarly, you get an Intel i5-9300H and 8GB of RAM in here, which is pretty standard at this price range.

However, it only offers a 256GB SSD whereas the ROG & Dell G3 has a bigger 512GB SSD storage. But I guess that is a trade-off that’s probably just about right considering the GPU that you are getting. That being said, you can upgrade the storage with a secondary HDD which will cost around Rs. 10,000 for the 2TB variant.

Acer Predator Helios 300 Specifications
Display 15.6″ diagonal FHD (1920 x 1080), 93% sRGB, 60Hz IPS

Asus ROG Zephyrus GA502DU

The Asus Zephyrus series has made a name for itself as a powerful gaming laptop that falls on the lighter side in terms of its size. And this one is no different. It comes packed with a VR ready graphics card and an AMD CPU. The reason it is not higher in this list is that I feel that its Ryzen processor still falls a tad bit behind as compared to its Intel competitors.

The Zephyrus is Asus’ take on ultra-thin gaming laptops and this one does not disappoint either. At 2.1 Kg and a thickness of just 0.78-inches, this is one of the most lightweight gaming laptops that you can get. Furthermore, the rare pair up between the AMD processor and an Nvidia GeForce graphics is really exciting. The display can be configured with either 60Hz or a 120Hz panel, but still, the display color coverage is quite low at 60 percent of sRGB. However, the graphics performance is great and it offers a good battery life too.

Lenovo Legion Y545

The top spot, in my opinion, goes to the Lenovo Legion Y545. Its specs consist of the 9th gen Intel i7 processor, 16GB RAM, GTX 1660Ti, and more. And with the specs that it boasts, it can run most AAA titles smoothly. Now there might be a bit of a thermal issue but the device certainly makes up for it with its performance.

Elegant design coupled with great overall performance is what best describes this device. Honestly, you won’t feel out of place even when using the laptop in your office. The display is much better than that of the Zephyrus and the brightness is really good too. Add to that a comfortable keyboard and the superb sound quality. However, thermals on this one are not that great, so do be wary of that!
