Honor’s X9 lineup annually attracts attention for its extreme durability tests. Last year, the X9c survived boiling water and a dozer run. Now, the X9d 5G pushes endurance further, featuring a massive 8300mAh battery in a slim, lightweight body—something that seemed impossible a few years ago. It's now officially in Nepal as well. In this article, we take a closer look atthe new Honor X9d, including its specifications, availability, and official price in Nepal.
Honor X9d Overview
Durability and Build
But before moving on, I should mention that the X9d isn’t exactly a new invention. It’s actually a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Honor X70. Since the X70 isn’t coming to Nepal, but the X9d is, we’ll use the X9d as our point of reference. Honor’s really going all-in on the toughness angle this time. The phone carries an IP69K rating—the highest level of water resistance available — meaning it can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. The 2.5-meter drop resistance is an upgrade from last year’s 2-meter rating, and it includes features such as rainproof touch controls and glove operation.

The cooling system uses a 5th-gen vapor chamber with 29,500 mm² of cooling surface area. It can operate between -30°C and 55°C, covering most environments you'd realistically use a phone in. Its shock-absorbing frame uses what Honor calls "ballistic-grade damping."
Display and Design
Now, returning to the body of the X9d, you get a 6.79-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate that adapts to your usage. Peak brightness hits an excessive amount at 6,000 nits, while its full-screen brightness maxes out at a respectable 1,800 nits (HBM). And, of course, this Honor phone also features high-frequency 3,840Hz PWM dimming.

The phone weighs slightly more than the X9c at 193 grams, likely due to the larger battery. Even though it's still perfectly slim at just 7.76mm. Honor went with four colors here: Reddish Brown, Midnight Black, Sunrise Gold, and Forest Green.
Performance and Software
At its core is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, which is a significant step up from the 6 Gen 1 in last year's X9c. This chip scores around 759,000 on AnTuTu 10, which puts it in solid mid-range territory. Realme claims over 810,000 on their 14 5G with the same chip, so I don't think there would be that much difference in performance compared to the Realme 14 5G. The Honor X9d runs on MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, and there's no word on when the new Android 16-based MagicOS 10 update will be released for this phone.

Camera system
Moving on, the camera setup on the Honor X9d is as follows: a 108MP main sensor with OIS and a 5MP ultrawide unit. This is identical to last year's model, but Honor has added AI editing tools called "Star Editor" that can remove reflections, erase objects, and upscale photos. Meanwhile, for selfies, there's a 16MP front camera. If you are wondering whether there are any design-specific camera features, the answer is yes: they've also added an underwater photo mode.
Battery and Charging
Now let's discuss the most interesting aspect of the Honor X9d: its battery. It has an 8300 mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largestof any non-rugged smartphone in Nepal. Most Chinese brands have moved to 7,000 mAh+ batteries this year, but Honor has gone further. The silicon-carbon technology should enable this battery to last up to 6 years and support 1000 charge cycles. You also get 66W wired charging, and the phone canreverse charge other devices.
