Right after launching the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, the company has revealed the vanilla Mate 60 as well. Except for a few differences here and there, it is quite similar to its "Pro" sibling. In this article, we will be taking an in-depth look at the new Huawei Mate 60, including its features, specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal.
Huawei Mate 60 Overview:
Design and Display
The design and display of the Huawei Mate 60 series show very few differences between the Pro and non-Pro versions. And the Mate 60 uses the same second-gen Kunlun glass for protection. This IP68-rated phone has a round camera island at the back and is available in black, white, green, and purple color options.

Up front, the Huawei Mate 60 boasts a 6.69-inch LTPO OLED display, slightly smaller than its predecessor's 6.82-inch. Alongside a 120Hz refresh rate, this screen has a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1,440Hz PWM dimming, and 10-bit colors as well.
Performance and Memory
Although Huawei hasn't explicitly mentioned the chipset in use, the Mate 60 is likely powered by the same octa-core Kirin 9000S (5nm) processor found in the Mate 60 Pro. The phone comes with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. You can also expand the storage by up to 256GB using a Huawei NM card. On the software front, it runs on Huawei's own HarmonyOS 4.0.
Cameras
While the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro share many similarities, they do differ a bit in terms of cameras. Both models have a triple camera setup, with the same 50MP main camera which has f/1.4 – f/4.0 variable aperture, along with a 12MP ultrawide camera. On the front side, they share the same 13MP ultrawide lens for selfies. However, the Mate 60 features a 12MP periscope camera, unlike the 48MP version found in the Mate 60 Pro. Up front, it's got the same 13MP sensor but misses out on that 3D depth camera.
Huawei Mate 60 has a 4,750 mAh battery and supports 66W wired charging on top of 50W wireless charging. Additionally, it can do reverse wireless charging at 5W as well, allowing it to charge other devices wirelessly using the phone's battery.
For security, the phone offers an under-display optical fingerprint sensor. Similarly, connectivity options here include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The Mate 60 also enables two-way BeiDou satellite messaging exclusively within China.
Security: Fingerprint (under the display, optical)
Connectivity: WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C
Battery: 4,750mAh, 66W wired and 50W wireless, 5W reverse wireless
Huawei Mate 60 Price in Nepal and Availability
In China, the Huawei Mate 60 costs CNY 5,999 (around USD 825 / INR 68,300) for the 12/512GB model. Currently, there is no information about if and when the Mate 60 series will be available outside of China. But we expect the Huawei Mate 60 price in Nepal to be around NPR 125,000 if it arrives here.
