Performance
Previously, the Mate 60 Pro was supposed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. However, due to the ongoing US sanctions against Huawei, the device uses a Kirin 9000S chip, fabbed under a 5nm process as per GSMArena.
This 5G Soc bears one Cortex-A720 core at 2.62GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.15GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores at 1.53GHz. To note, Huawei hasn’t disclosed the chip on its official site. If it goes true, the Maleoon 910 GPU handles the graphics here. Meanwhile, booting the phone is Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.0.
Camera
Getting to the optics, Huawei has fitted three cameras on the circular module. The primary sensor is a 50MP unit with f/1.4 to f/4.0 variable aperture and OIS. It is followed by a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 48MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. Over on the front, there is a 13MP ultrawide angle unit accompanied by a 3D ToF sensor.
Battery and Others
Fueling the smartphone is a 5000mAh Li-Po battery. It comes with 88W wired fast charging, 50W wireless, and 20W reverse wireless support. Talking of connectivity, the Mate 50 Pro gets satellite messaging service which is limited to China. Other options include 5G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. For biometrics security, you get 3D face recognition plus an in-display fingerprint reader.
