Huawei has officially unveiled the Mate 70 series at an event in Shenzhen, including the Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro. Huawei Mate 70 Series
Design and Display
The Mate 70 is the thinnest phone in the series at 7.8mm and the only model with a flat frame. Both devices have an IP69 rating, which offers protection against pressurized water jets.
The Mate 70 features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. The more expensive Mate 70 Pro expands the screen to 6.9 inches while maintaining the same resolution and refresh rate. Both screens offer a peak brightness of 2,500 nits and are protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass.
Cameras
The Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro share a 50MP main camera with variable aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0) and optical image stabilization. They also feature a 40MP ultrawide camera. However, the Mate 70 includes a 12MP periscope camera with 5.5x optical zoom, while the Mate 70 Pro upgrades this to a 48MP sensor with 4x optical zoom.
Additionally, both phones introduce a new spectral imaging sensor, enhancing color accuracy, skin tones, and shadow detail. For selfies, the Mate 70 has a single 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The Mate 70 Pro adds a 3D Depth camera for secure face unlock.
Performance and Software
Huawei has not disclosed specific chipset details, but the phones are rumored to use the Kirin 9100 processor. Both devices run on HarmonyOS 4.3, with an upgrade to HarmonyOS Next expected later.

The Mate 70 houses a 5,300 mAh battery and supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Mate 70 Pro offers a slightly larger 5,500 mAh battery with faster 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
