      Huawei Mate X7 Overview

      Design and Display

      undefined

Now starting off with the most interesting aspects of all foldable phones, or the design, the Mate X7 features a sturdy aluminium frame and a slightly thinner and lighter body than its predecessor, and weighs 235g and measuring 9.5mm folded and 4.5mm unfolded. Now, this Huawei foldable phone comes with IP58, IP59 dust and water resistance, which is significantly a clear step up from the previous generation. Similarly, the phone is available in Black, White, Purple, and Red.

Just like any foldable phone, the device has two screens. The cover screen measures 6.49 inches with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio, while the main foldable screen is 8 inches, 8:7.3 aspect ratio. Both use LTPO OLED panels with variable refresh rates from 1–120Hz and 1,440Hz PWM dimming.

      Camera

The Mate X7’s rear camera setup features a 50MP main RYYB sensor with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and OIS, a new 50MP telephoto camera with a f/2.2 aperture and 3.5x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, both the cover screen and main inner screen have 8MP cameras.

      Performance

The chipset has not been the strongest suit for Huawei but the Huawei Mate X7 should perform really well, not just that it is powered by Huawei’s latest high-end Kirin 9030 Pro chipset (featuring a nine-core ARMv8 configuration), but since it runs on their own HarmonyOS 6. It gives them the leverage over performance optimisation.

Moreover, the RAM options are 12GB, 16GB, and 20GB, and storage comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. This is also a big step up over the previous generation.

      Battery and Charging

It has a 5,600mAh dual-cell Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) battery, slightly larger than the previous model. And the wired charging goes up to 66W, while 50W wireless charging is supported.

       Connectivity

It also includes satellite connectivity for emergencies without cellular coverage. Moreover, the standard connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
