Huawei Watch 6 series arrives with 3,500 nits displays and premium titanium, ceramic builds!

Huawei has officially introduced the Watch 6 series, bringing the new Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro to its flagship smartwatch lineup. Both new watches feature AMOLED displays with up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. They also come with Huawei’s X-TAP sensor system for health monitoring and improved sports tracking. In this article, I’ll discuss everything you need to know about the Huawei Watch 6 series, including its specifications, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

Huawei Watch 6 Series Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Huawei Watch 6 series retains a circular watch face with a rotating crown and side button, while the different size and material options give each model its own look. The standard Watch 6 comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes, with an aluminum alloy case on the 42mm version and a stainless-steel case on the 46mm model. Meanwhile, the Watch 6 Pro is available in 43mm and 46mm sizes, with the smaller model featuring a ceramic case and the larger variant using a titanium front case with a ceramic rear case.

Both models also carry 5 ATM water resistance and an IP69 rating, along with support for diving down to 40 meters. The Watch 6 42mm weighs around 38g, while the 46mm version weighs 60g. On the Pro side, the 43mm model weighs around 50g and the 46mm version comes in at 57g, excluding the straps.

Moving on to the display, the 42mm Watch 6 and 43mm Watch 6 Pro feature a 1.38-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel, while their 46mm versions step up to a larger 1.5-inch display. All variants offer a 466 x 466-pixel resolution and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, which should make the screen easier to view even under bright outdoor conditions.

Health and Fitness

For health tracking, the Huawei Watch 6 series features Huawei’s X-TAP sensor system, which combines a 12-channel PPG sensor with a pressure sensor for quick health measurements. It powers the Health Glance feature, which can generate a report covering up to 14 health metrics in around 60 seconds, including heart rate, SpO₂, skin temperature, ECG, and respiratory-related data.

Additionally, Health Glance now supports risk evaluation studies for coronary heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. These studies need to be activated separately and are available only in certain markets, with the results intended for reference rather than medical diagnosis.

On the fitness side, both watches support more than 100 workout modes along with GNSS positioning for outdoor activities, covering everything from running and cycling to swimming and diving.

Battery and Charging

In terms of battery life, the Huawei Watch 6 series can last up to 4.5 days with typical use on the larger 46mm models, while the 42mm Watch 6 and 43mm Watch 6 Pro offer up to 3 days. With the always-on display enabled, these figures drop to around 3 days and 2 days, respectively.

Meanwhile, Huawei also offers a battery-saver mode for longer endurance. In this mode, the 46mm models can last up to 11 days, while the smaller variants can stretch up to 7 days. Both watches support wireless fast charging through Huawei’s Watch Wireless SuperCharger (2nd Gen), making it easier to top up the battery between uses.

Smart Features and Connectivity

The Huawei Watch 6 series supports Bluetooth calling, Wi-Fi, NFC, and GNSS positioning, with eSIM connectivity available on supported variants. This allows the watches to handle calls and stay connected without relying entirely on a paired smartphone, while the built-in speaker and microphone make on-watch calling more convenient.

Moreover, Huawei has added several smart features aimed at making the watches more useful beyond health and fitness tracking. These include navigation, music controls, notifications, and support for apps through Huawei’s ecosystem. The watches are compatible with both Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later devices, although some features may vary depending on the connected phone and region.

Huawei Watch 6 Series Price in Nepal and Availability

The Huawei Watch 6 series has been officially announced globally, with the standard Watch 6 starting at GBP 399.99, while the Watch 6 Pro costs GBP 599.99. While Huawei has not yet announced the watches’ availability in the local market, if they do launch here, we expect the Huawei Watch 6 series price in Nepal to start at around NPR 81,699 for the standard model and NPR 122,499 for the Pro variant.
