Is this the most "complete" gaming phone Infinix has ever made?

The Infinix GT 50 Pro is finally official, with noticeable upgrades across many aspects over last year's GT 30 Pro. Like battery capacity, performance—and more importantly the thermals—since the GT 50 Pro now has a proper liquid cooling system. It also has one weird downgrade that I'll talk about in just a minute, but for now, let's take a closer look at this gaming phone, including the expected price of the Infinix GT 50 Pro in Nepal, its specifications, and availability.
Infinix GT 50 Pro Overview
Design and display
Starting with the design, the Infinix GT 50 Pro retains the same boxy overall build of its predecessor. It is 10 grams heavier now, but we doubt that's going to be noticeable in regular use. The GT 50 Pro retains the RGB light at the back, while it now has a transparent array at the bottom, exposing the phone's built-in liquid cooler. In terms of durability, this phone has an IP64 rating against dust and water splashes.

As for the display, Infinix GT 50 Pro offers a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K (1208 x 2644 pixels) resolution and an impressive 93.18% screen-to-body ratio. It also has a variable refresh rate ranging from 30 to 144Hz, which should help deliver smooth gameplay and scrolling. This screen can reach up to 1,600 nits of HBM, which is excellent for outdoor visibility. While it can reach up to 4,500 nits for HDR content as well.
Performance and software
Under the hood, the Infinix GT 50 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate SoC with all-big core CPU architecture. It is positioned as an upper-mid-range chip with performance approaching flagship level. This chip has an AnTuTu 11 benchmark score of 1,808,355, compared to 1,538,799 for the Dimensity 8350 Ultimate. So… the GT 50 Pro doesn't have a massive jump in performance over its predecessor, but we are expecting a better gaming experience on this thing because of other factors.

Since Infinix has moved away from just the passive cooling solution of the GT 30 Pro to an actual liquid-cooled system. Infinix calls it “HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture”, which is similar to the liquid cooling solution we've seen on some other phones like the RedMagic 11 Pro (review). This includes a small active micro-pump circulation system that increases the heat-dissipation area to 6437 mm². Infinix even provides an external cooling accessory that claims to reduce the temperature during your heavier gaming sessions. In addition, it has a bladeless piezoelectric plate designed to offer high-pressure airflow within the device.
That liquid cooling system has been complemented by a large 7,700 mm² vapor chamber as well. With this cooling and SoC combo, Infinix says the GT 50 Pro supports 144fps gameplay on popular titles like Arena Breakout, MLBB, Blood Strike, Standoff 2, CODM, and Free Fire. But while this phone looks solid on paper, I wanna remind you that its real-world gaming performance is highly dependent on the specific gaming scenarios and ambient thermal conditions as well.
Furthermore, this phone is paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Infinix GT 50 Pro runs on XOS 16 based on Android 16, and the company also promises 3 major Android upgrades and 5 years of security patches for this phone. Up from 2 + 3 years of updates on the GT 30 Pro.

Dual-pressure sensitive zones
Moving on, Infinix has also upgraded the dual pressure-sensitive zones this time. Because on the GT 50 Pro, you can map its triggers into 8 different mapping points and 10 levels of adjustable pressure sensitivity. That means you can tap, press lightly or heavily, and swap left and right as needed to trigger different in-game shortcuts.

Besides gaming, these triggers can also be used to control the camera to zoom in and out. Infinix lets you take screenshots, start screen recording, and more using these triggers as well. All of which can be customized inside Infinix's “XArena” app.
Camera, battery, and others
So that “weird downgrade” I mentioned earlier on the GT 50 Pro is actually in the camera department. Since Infinix has replaced the 108MP main sensor we saw on the GT 30 Pro with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera instead. It does gain optical image stabilization (OIS) for better video stability and low-light shots, though. Other than this, you get the same 8MP ultrawide and a 13MP selfie camera as before.

There is a noticeable jump in battery in the Infinix GT 50 Pro. It packs either a 6,150 mAh or a 6,500 mAh battery, depending on the region, which is roughly 20% larger than its predecessor. This phone supports 45W wired and 30W wireless charging, along with 10W wired and 5W wireless reverse charging. It even supports bypass charging, both wired and wirelessly, although you do need to purchase the Infinix "GT MagCharge Cooler 2.0" for wireless bypass charging.
Surprisingly enough, Infinix has included “Dolby Atmos” spatial audio in the GT 50 Pro. Of course, this is mostly a marketing gimmick, but you may notice some spatial cues during gaming, such as directional sound.
