POCO X8 Power 5G Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the POCO X8 Power 5G takes a fairly practical approach. The phone has a polycarbonate body, and you get to choose between “Black” and “Yellow” finishes. For durability, it gets IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, along with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, which should provide much better protection against dust, rain, and accidental exposure to water.

Up front, the X8 Power has a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The POCO X8 Power 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, making it well-suited for watching videos, browsing, and gaming.
Additionally, it gets 3,840Hz PWM dimming for a more comfortable viewing experience in low-light conditions. POCO has also added Wet Touch 2.0 and TUV eye-protection features. For gaming, the phone can reach up to 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling in Game Turbo mode.
Performance and software
For performance, the POCO X8 Power 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a 4nm chipset. This chip should be more than capable for normal day-to-day tasks such as social media, multitasking, streaming, and switching between multiple apps. Casual gaming on this phone should also be decent, but if you want a gaming-focused phone in a similar price range can go for options like the POCO M8 Pro, Infinix Note 60 Pro, and Nothing Phone 4a.

Memory-wise, it comes with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM. For storage, the base 128GB version uses UFS 2.2, while higher storage configurations get faster UFS 4.1 storage. On the software side, the phone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO is also promising four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. This could make more sense to those of you who are looking to use it for a long time.

Battery and camera
Moving on, the battery is easily the biggest reason to consider the POCO X8 Power 5G. It packs a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is significantly larger than what we normally see in this price range. POCO also claims that this phone could last for more than 2.5 days even when you do casual gaming. Here, the phone also gets 100W HyperCharge along with 27W reverse charging, allowing the phone to work as a power source for other devices.

As for the optics, the X8 Power comes with a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the back. The main camera should be useful for everyday photography and should also help with stability in low-light shots, while the ultrawide camera gives you more flexibility for landscapes and group photos. You also get a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Besides that, the phone includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, and an IR blaster.
