The iPhone 16 was the best-selling phone of 2025. And even in Nepal, the iPhone 16 has been one of the go-to and best budget iPhones to buy. However, because of the ongoing RAM and SSD shortage globally, and also because of the rising dollar rate, Generation Nxt Communications, the authorized distributor of iPhones in Nepal, has increased the price of the iPhone 16. So, in this article, let’s find out the official new latest price of the iPhone 16 in Nepal, and also find out if you should still buy the iPhone 16 after this new price update.
iPhone 16 Price in Nepal and Availability
The latest official price of the iPhone 16 in Nepal is NPR 141,499 for the 128GB variant. The 256GB and 512GB models are no longer available. And if you buy an iPhone 16 in Nepal from the nearest mobile retail stores, you will also get the following benefits for free:
- Screen replacement (twice within 2 years),
- Back panel replacement (twice within 2 years), and
- 1-year extended warranty

Should You Buy the iPhone 16 in Nepal?
At the current MRP of Rs. 1,41,500, the iPhone 16 definitely does not look like a great deal anymore. Because at this price, you are only getting a 60Hz display and just 128GB of storage. The cameras will also feel slightly outdated compared to what you are getting with the latest iPhone 17.
So, for around Rs. 1.4 lakh, this is a pretty bad deal, especially considering that in India, the iPhone 16 costs around INR 69,000, which directly converts to roughly Rs. 1,10,000. That means we are paying almost a 30% premium here in Nepal.
And at a similar price, you can, in fact, get the iPhone 17 if you can order it from abroad. Even in Nepal, I would suggest slightly increasing your budget and getting the iPhone 17 instead, since for that price, you are going to get 256GB of storage, faster performance, a 120Hz display, a new updated selfie camera, and improved cameras. So yeah, buying the iPhone 16 in Nepal in 2026 is just not worth it anymore.

iPhone 16 Overview
Design
The major design change that we have witnessed on the iPhone 16 is the redesigned camera module. The Cupertino tech giant has brought back the vertical camera layout from the past on this new guy. 'Cause the last time we saw a vertical camera module was on the iPhone 12.

Meanwhile, the boxy frame design is here to stay, with a metal core. That's because the more durable and premium titanium build is reserved for the Pro models to maintain the gap. Plus, the Action Button is now available on the vanilla model for the first time, replacing the mute switch button (RIP alert slider). The volume rockers are located below the action button. That's not all; Apple has also added an extra Capture Button on the side of the power button. As for the color, it comes in Black, White, Pink, Teal, and Ultramarine.
Display
In terms of display, the iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, the same as its predecessor. While Apple has redesigned the camera module, it has also introduced much thinner bezels. However, the refresh rate remains at 60Hz, which is surprising given that we are nearing the end of 2024. But, as always, it’s Apple being Apple!

Performance
The iPhone 16 uses the Apple 18 SoC across the board. Likewise, a new thermal design with a graphene layer is included in the iPhone 16 models. Similarly, you'll now get 8 GB of memory and up to 512 GB of storage. Additionally, several AI improvements are in the pipeline, with Apple Intelligence marking a new milestone in the smartphone market.
