iQOO has launched a handful of phones under the Z9 series including the base model, Z9x, a Turbo edition, and Z9 Lite. Now the company is creating a spin-off series with Z9s 5G and Z9s Pro. In this article, we will look into the former i.e. iQOO Z9s 5G in further detail and discuss its potential price in Nepal.
iQOO Z9s 5G Overview
Design and Display
The iQOO Z9s 5G has two colour options: Onyx Green, and Titanium Matte. The former comes in a glossy finish with marble-like patterns. Meanwhile, the latter as the name suggests comes in a matte finish. Either way, it boasts an IP64 rating making it dust and water-resistant. Furthermore, you can use the phone in rainy conditions and with wet hands as well, thanks to its “Wet Touch Technology”.
It has a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution on the front. The display has a smooth refresh rate of 120Hz and rich vibrancy with a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. It also offers a regular and instant touch sampling rate of 300Hz and 2,000Hz respectively. Other than that, the iQOO Z9s 5G is capable of 1,800 nits of peak brightness and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. Moreover, it dons the Schott Xensation Glass for added layering of protection.
Performance
The iQOO Z9s 5G packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor for most of its heavy lifting. This silicon has eight cores, 4nm fabrication, and clocks at a 2.5GHz peak. The phone is then coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It is available in three different configurations. Which are: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.
You can virtually double the memory on this thing, however, it does not support storage expansion. The phone also packs a stainless steel 3,000 mm2 vapour chamber liquid cooling system for temperature control. Software-wise, it boots on FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It will receive two years of software and three years of security updates.

Camera and the rest
Talking of the optics, the iQOO Z9s 5G comes with a dual-camera setup on the back. The primary shooter is a 50MP unit with a Sony IMX882 sensor. It can record 4K video recording with Hybrid Image Stabilisation (OIS + EIS). Meanwhile, the auxiliary lens is a 2MP Bokeh camera. Likewise, the front camera is a 16MP unit with a Samsung S5K3P9SP04-FGX9 sensor.
In the tank, the iQOO Z9s 5G packs a 5,500mAh battery and is apparently the slimmest phone in the company’s portfolio to pack that much capacity. It supports 44W wired charging and can push out a maximum of 7.5W reverse charging.

This smartphone was officially announced on 21 August 2024 in India and will start at INR 19,999. However, it will only start shipping on 29 August. If it ever arrives here, we expect the iQOO Z9s 5G price in Nepal to start at NPR 32,999.
