Design and Display

Starting with the design, the 2026 edition of the Lenovo LOQ Essential keeps things pretty simple. It has a clean, minimal look with a Luna Grey finish and the LOQ logo in the center of the lid. Here, you don't get any flashy RGB lighting or aggressive gaming looks. Instead, it looks more like a regular laptop.

Talking about the display, the LOQ Essential features a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel with an FHD resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It's an anti-glare display with 300 nits of brightness, a 100% sRGB color gamut, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. You also get AMD FreeSync support to help reduce screen tearing while gaming, but there's no NVIDIA G-SYNC support.

Under the hood, the LOQ Essential  (2026) uses an “updated” AMD Ryzen 7 170 processor under the Ryzen 100 series (codename: “Rembrandt-R'). But unfortunately, this CPU is just a refreshed version of Ryzen 7 7735HS from 2023, which was already a rebranded Ryzen 7 6800HS from 2022. The Ryzen 7 170 has 8 ”Zen 3+" cores and 16 threads, with a maximum boost of up to 4.75 GHz, which should work well for a range of tasks, such as gaming and multitasking. 

For the graphics, it comes with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, which should handle 1080p gaming pretty well at medium to high graphics settings in most games. It also comes with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. However, since this is the Essential lineup, the GPU runs at a lower 65W TGP compared to the regular LOQ models. On the memory side, you get 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.

Battery and Others

Moving on to battery, this budget gaming laptop gets its juice from a 60Whr cell with a 135W AC adaptor. For ports, it includes 2x USB-A ports (5Gbps), 1x USB-C (5Gbps), 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x Headphone/mic combo and an RJ45 (Ethernet). 

Furthermore, wireless connectivity consists of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. For audio, this gaming machine also supports Nahimic 3D audio for surround sound with its 2x 2W speaker setup.
