Honor X8e 4G silently arrives with a 108MP camera and 7,700mAh battery!

Honor seems to have no plans of slowing down its X-series lineup, adding yet another model with the new Honor X8e 4G just around a month after the standard Honor X7e arrived in Nepal. The new phone is nearly identical to the Honor X7e Plus 4G launched earlier this year, so there is not much that feels new at first glance. However, its 108MP main camera is one feature that helps the X8e stand out from the crowd, while its slightly more durable build is another notable addition. So, let’s take a closer look at Honor’s new X8e 4G, including its specifications and expected price in Nepal.

Honor X8e 4G Overview

Design and Display

The Honor X8e 4G features a flat-frame design and comes in three color options: Sunrise Orange, Desert Gold, and Velvet Black. It measures 8.3mm in thickness and weighs around 218.5 grams. Like its sibling, the X8e is built to withstand tough conditions, with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. Honor also claims that the phone can withstand high-humidity, salt-rich environments for a full day and operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C.

Moving to the display, the Honor X8e 4G sports a 6.87-inch TFT LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 1592 × 720 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, while its peak brightness reaches 1,020 nits. The display also has a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera.

Performance and Software

The Honor X8e 4G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685, an entry-level 4G chipset built on a 6nm process. It should handle everyday tasks like browsing and social media, but demanding games and heavy multitasking may push its limits. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with support for virtual RAM expansion through Honor's RAM Turbo technology.

On the software side, the phone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 out of the box.

Camera and Battery

The Honor X8e 4G features a 108MP main camera on the back, which is its biggest highlight in the camera department. For selfies, it has a 5MP front camera. While the high-resolution rear sensor looks promising on paper, actual image quality will depend on more than megapixel count alone. Moreover, the Snapdragon 685 chipset limits video recording to 1080p, which is a notable limitation despite the high-resolution sensor.

Fueling the phone is a large 7,700mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging, which should help it last through extended daily use.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Honor X8e 4G supports dual Nano-SIM cards with 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC. It also features a dedicated AI button for quick access to supported tools, making it easier to launch AI features without navigating through menus. Other highlights include AI Image to Video 2.0, which can turn still images into video content.
