Meizu Note 16 Series launched with big batteries

Meizu might not be the most popular name in the smartphone world, but this Chinese smartphone maker provides value-for-money products. The Meizu Note 16 Series has debuted in China, and its specs are exciting for its price. Design and Display

We have two models under the Meizu Note 16 Series— Meizu Note 16 and Note 16 Pro. Addressing the design side, the Pro version comes with a flat frame body and a big circular camera module on its rear.  Meanwhile, the vanilla model also boasts a similar look, but the camera module has an octagonal rim. Likewise, you get IP66/68 and IP65 ratings on the Note 16 and Note 16 Pr,o respectively. In terms of displays, the Pro sibling features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a fast 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 1600nits. On the other hand, the vanilla model goes for an FHD+ LCD panel stretching at 6.78 inches diagonally, while the refresh rate is 120Hz.

Performance

Under the hood, the Note 16 Pro houses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, fabbed on a 4nm process. This SoC also powers the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Likewise, the Note 16 goes for a Unisoc T8200 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Booting both phones is Meizu's Flyme AIOS 2, built on top of Android 15.

Camera and Battery

Getting to the optics department, both silings sport a dual camera setup. The Pro variant flaunts a 50MP main shooter and an 8MP ultrawide unit, while the standard version gets a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensing unit. Moving on, the Meizu Note 16 Pro gets its juice from a 6200mAh cell with 80W charging support. While the Meizu Note 16 relies on a bigger 6600mAh battery, albeit with a slower 40W charging support.

In China, the Meizu Note 16 Pro's pricing commences at CNY 1,499 for the base 8/256GB, while the Note 16 retails at CNY 799 for the base 8/128GB trim. We expect the Meizu Note 16 Series price in Nepal to begin from NPR 19,999, if it ever launches here.
