Can the Moto Pad 70 Pro stand out in the premium tablet market against rivals like the Xiaomi Pad 8?

Motorola announced the new premium Moto Pad 70 Pro in India—the direct successor to the Moto Pad 60 Pro. This new Tab 70 Pro focuses on users looking for an option for entertainment, creativity, and productivity. It comes with flagship-grade hardware, plenty of AI-powered software features, a high refresh rate, and more, and also includes the Moto Pen Pro stylus in the box, which I will address in a minute. But for now, I will discuss details of this new tablet, including the expected Moto Pad 70 Pro price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Moto Pad 70 Pro Overview
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Moto Pad 70 Pro uses the flagship-level Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm) processor—the same chip we saw in the Xiaomi Pad 8 we recently reviewed. So, we expect a similar experience in this tablet too. This means that whenever you open the app, switch between tasks, watch videos, play games, or use any other feature, the experience should be smooth and fluid, and also should provide smoother multitasking and better gaming performance.

In terms of gaming, too, you might not face any kind of struggle while playing demanding titles like Genshin Impact in the medium graphics setting. Plus, there should also be no lag or trouble handling multitasking, web browsing, streaming, and office work on this tablet.

Memory-wise, the Pad 70 Pro offers 8GB of soldered LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 or 256GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. On the software front, it runs on Android 16 out of the box, offering several AI-powered features like AI Notes, AI Live Transcript, Smart Capture, Sketch to Image, and more.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the new Moto Pad 70 Pro maintains its slim profile—with a metal body measuring just 6.2mm thick and weighing around 589 grams. Even though it has a large display, the thin design should make it comfortable to carry in a backpack or use on a desk. Here, you get only the “PANTONE Titan” color option for this tablet.
Additionally, the back panel camera island changed to a vertically oriented pill-shaped layout, moving away from the square island we saw on the Moto Pad 60 Pro. It also has an IP52 rating against dust and water, so that you can carry this tablet with you without worry—even when using it outdoors.

Up front, the Pad 70 Pro features a 13-inch LTPS IPS panel with 3.5K resolution for crisp visuals. Alongside it, it also has Dolby Vision, 12-bit color, and 99% DCI P3 color coverage, which would be very useful for those who do design work that requires high-level color accuracy.
Besides this, it has 800-nit peak brightness, which should be enough to deliver better HDR visuals when watching movies and playing graphically demanding games. On top of all that, the 144Hz refresh rate should improve the overall experience with this table by making scrolling, animations, and supported game apps noticeably smoother than on a standard 120Hz display.

Battery and Camera
Another highlight of this new Moto Pad 70 Pro is its massive 10,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. According to Motorola, this battery can support up to 12.5 hours of YouTube streaming and up to 2 hours of watch time with only 10 minutes of charging. Interestingly, Motorola is including a 68W power adapter in the box with this tablet, even though it only supports 45W charging. However, for casual use, this massive battery should comfortably last more than a day on a single charge.

Unlike its display, battery, and chipset, Motorola keeps the camera system simple and basic. It provides a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, while you get an 8MP front camera for selfies, video calls, and meetings. Other than this, Pad 70 Pro also includes four JBL-tuned speakers that support Dolby Atmos—giving you a richer audio experience and eliminating the need for external speakers.
