Motorola Signature 27 is the company’s most ambitious flagship phone yet!

At the Snapdragon Summit held yesterday, Qualcomm announced its latest flagship mobile chips. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. A few Android phone makers also took the stage to show off their upcoming flagship phones powered by the newest Snapdragon processors. Including Motorola, with its completely redesigned Motorola Signature 27. And boy, is there a lot to talk about this phone!

What we know about the Motorola Signature 27 so far!

A redesign from the ground up

If you look at Motorola’s current roster of smartphones, I wouldn’t be surprised if you yawned in the middle of scrolling through them because they all look so uninspiringly identical. But the company clearly wants to change that with the upcoming Signature 27. It has a redesigned camera housing that almost takes up the top half of the phone, which looks a whole lot different than other Motorola phones.

The Signature 27 will be available in “Pantone Coal Smoke” and “Pantone Capulet Olive” color options, both of which appear to have some sort of fabric-inspired finish. Motorola has also teamed up with popular audio brand Bang & Olufsen for the speakers—and you can clearly see the “Audio by B&O” branding on the camera plateau itself. But this one honestly feels a bit too over the top, if you ask me.

All in on performance!

Motorola is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to performance either. The Signature 27 will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, which is the more powerful of the two that Qualcomm unveiled, by the way.

I’m also expecting a lot from its gaming capabilities since Motorola says it has designed its “ArcticMesh” cooling system for this phone to deliver better sustained performance. This system apparently uses a “diamond-infused thermal gel”, alongside copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber with liquid metal that is 40% larger compared to the first-gen Motorola Signature.

And since one of the major highlights of the 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is its strong on-device AI potential, there’s that to look forward to as well.

The Signature 27 will run on Android 17 when it launches, and Motorola is committing to 7 years of OS + security updates for this thing.

Some serious camera upgrades

Motorola has gone all in when it comes to the cameras too!. The Signature 27 will bring a quad camera setup at the back—and while we don’t know the specifics of all four of them yet—we do know that its main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 sensor. Followed by a 200MP periscope tele lens for high-res zoom shots. The company also mentions a “3.5° OIS hardware” onboard for more stable recordings.

Motorola Signature 27 Price and Availability

So far, that’s pretty much everything Motorola has revealed about this phone. The Signature 27 is coming to “markets worldwide in 2026”, although there’s no concrete word on its pricing and availability yet. But considering its ambitious scope and all the premium specs, I won’t be surprised if the Motorola Signature 27 ends up starting at USD 1,299 like the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
