Nothing Phone 3a Lite launched in Nepal with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro

Nothing Phone 3 (review) was one of the most controversial phones of the year, and it largely disappointed the audience. The key reason behind it was the weird-looking, asymmetric design and the extremely high price. The British phonemaker has now launched the Phone 3a Lite with a similar design—but with several spec cuts to meet its affordable price tag. Now, let’s jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Nothing Phone 3a Lite, including its official price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Nothing Phone 3a Lite Overview

Display and Design

The Phone 3a Lite has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution. It supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak HDR brightness of 3,000 nits. Or 1,300 nits of maximum outdoor brightness. The display has a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate and supports 1.07 billion colors. This 10-bit panel is also protected by Panda Glass.

The real looker here is the design. So the Phone 3a Lite has a sorta-similar camera design as the regular Phone 3, but Nothing has replaced the “Glyph Matrix” with a tiny Glyph Light on the bottom right corner.

This LED indicates notifications when the phone is face down, supports custom sequences for contacts, and acts as a visual countdown for the camera timer, too. Moreover, Nothing has also placed a simulated battery design on the back, which is purely for aesthetic purposes. The phone weighs about 199 gm and carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Performance and Software

Powering the Phone 3a Lite is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chip, the same chip we first saw on the CMF Phone 2 Pro (review).

Being a tried-and-tested processor, you can expect reliable performance. In our testing with the CMF Phone 2 Pro, games like PUBG and Mobile Legends ran smoothly at around 90 fps, while Genshin Impact on high settings in 45 fps mode averaged about 40 fps. Although the device did get quite warm.

The 3a Lite has 8GB of RAM, and storage options include 128GB and 256GB. Which is also expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. It runs Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, with 3 years of major OS updates and 6 years of security patches.

Camera and Battery

The rear camera setup on the Nothing Phone 3a Lite includes a 50MP f/1.88 main sensor with EIS (unfortunately, no OIS for this budget phone), an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. Unlike the CMF Phone 2 Pro, the Phone 3a Lite does not feature a telephoto camera either. And rounding up the camera setup is a 16MP f/2.45 camera.

Similarly, the Phone 3a Lite can record 4K 30 fps, 1080p 60 fps, and 1080p slo-mo at 120 fps videos. It is powered by Nothing’s “TrueLens Engine 4.0”, while it also supports features like Portrait Optimiser, Ultra XDR, and Night Mode. You get a 5,000mAh battery here that supports 33W wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging.
