How to buy laptops, find the best laptop under Rs. 70,000 in Nepal?
Laptops priced under Rs. 70,000 often come with compromises in one aspect or another, so it is important to understand your needs before heading to the market. However, we wouldn't recommend compromising on performance in this price range. You can find laptops with 13th Gen Intel processors and AMD Ryzen 7000-series CPUs. As for memory, 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD are generally the maximum you can expect in this segment.

4. Acer Aspire GO 15
At the fourth spot, we have the Acer Aspire Go 15, which comes with Intel's Core 3 N355 processor paired with 8GB of DDR5 RAM and a basic 256GB SSD. Talking about the performance, it is decent enough for all your day-to-day tasks like browsing, working on documents, attending online classes, and some light multitasking. Here, the DDR5 RAM is also a huge plus, and unlike the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 below, you can also upgrade the RAM later on.
However, the biggest bummer here is that its 256GB of storage is quite low, so you need to upgrade it if you plan to store lots of files and applications.

Moving on to the display, here we get a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel with a matte finish and a basic 60Hz refresh rate. So, compared to the TN panel that we usually get in this price range, here we get an IPS panel, which makes this laptop a good option for content consumption.
Other than this, the laptop weighs around 1.72kg, which is reasonable for a 15-inch laptop, and it also packs a 53Wh battery, which should give around 6/7 hours of backup. Overall, the Acer Aspire Go 15 is a decent option for students and office users looking for a laptop for regular daily tasks.
| Acer Aspire GO 15 Specifications | |
| Display | 15.6” IPS FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels), 60Hz |

3. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15AMN8
Next, we have the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15AMN8, which comes with an AMD Ryzen 3 30 processor. Now, you might think this is a new processor, but it is actually a rebranded version of the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U. It is paired with 8GB of RAM, which is fine for everyday tasks like browsing the web, working on documents, and attending online classes. However, do note that the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, so you cannot upgrade it later.
Talking about the design, the laptop weighs around 1.62kg, which is decent for a 15.6-inch laptop. So yeah, students can easily carry it to college and bring it back home without much hassle. The build quality is also good for this price range.
On the front, we get a 15.6-inch Full HD TN display. While the resolution is decent for everyday use, the TN panel is not as good as an IPS display in terms of viewing angles and overall picture quality. It offers 250 nits of brightness, an anti-glare surface, and 45% NTSC color coverage. So, it is fine for regular home use, studying, and office work, but don't expect accurate colors for photo editing or other color-sensitive tasks.
Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a decent option for students and anyone looking for a laptop for basic everyday tasks.
| Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 15AMN8 Specifications | |
| Display | 15.6” TN FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels), 60Hz, 250 nits, 45% NTSC |

2.Acer Aspire Lite 14
The Acer Aspire Lite 14 takes the second spot on the list. It is powered by the Intel Core i3-N355 processor, which comes with 8 cores and a boost clock speed of up to 3.9GHz. Paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, this laptop should be good enough for everyday tasks like browsing, working with documents, attending online classes, and light multitasking.
A compact laptop with a 16:10 display
One of the main highlights of the Acer Aspire Lite 14 is its 14-inch WUXGA IPS display with a (1920 x 1200) resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. This taller screen gives you more vertical space for reading documents and browsing websites. The laptop also weighs around just 1.35kg, making it suitable for students and people who need to carry their laptops around regularly.
However, there are a few compromises to consider, i.e., its display has a typical brightness of 250 nits and covers only 45% of the NTSC color gamut, so it is not ideal for color-accurate tasks. Likewise, the 8GB RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded later.
| Acer Aspire Lite 14 Specifications | |
| Display | 14” WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels), 60Hz, 250 nits, 45% NTSC |

1. ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404VA
Taking the top spot on my list is the ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404VA. It is powered by the Intel Core i3-1315U processor, featuring 6 cores and 8 threads, paired with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. This setup is suitable for everyday tasks like browsing the web, working with documents, attending online classes, and light multitasking.
Talking about the display, it comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a basic 60Hz panel. It also comes with Intel UHD Graphics, which is fine for basic graphics tasks but not ideal for demanding gaming or video editing.
Other than this, it includes a Magic Numpad on the touchpad, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and Windows 11. However, the 128GB SSD is quite low for storing large files and applications, so you may need external storage.
