OnePlus has announced a new chip-level gaming optimization technology called “Venom.” This innovation will debut with the OnePlus Ace 5 series, launching in December 2024. In this article, we will discuss furthermore about this OnePlus Venom technology.
What is Venom Technology?
This latest Venom tech basically rewrites the game scheduling system entirely, bypassing Android’s native system. This change improves gaming performance, reduces power consumption, and effectively manages heat. Additionally, this technology enhances the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, leading to what OnePlus describes as “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.5” performance.

Which device will it feature?
This Venom technology will be featured in most semi-flagship to flagship devices, starting with the Ace series. The Ace 5 series will include two models: the standard Ace 5 and the Ace 5 Pro. In the meantime, here are the Key features of these Ace series models:
- Processor: The Ace 5 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Ace 5 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
- Display: Both phones feature a 1.5K flat OLED display with a centered punch-hole.
- Memory and Storage: Users can choose configurations of up to 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
- Battery: The phones are expected to include a battery of around 6,000mAh capacity.
OnePlus Venom Technology Availability
As said earlier, they will debut in the Ace series. While OnePlus plans to rebrand the Ace 5 as the OnePlus 13R for global markets. It will launch alongside the OnePlus 13 in January 2025. However, there is no confirmation about the Ace 5 Pro’s global release. This technology is also expected to feature in Oppo phones.
