Laptops in Nepal are available starting from NPR 50,000 and can go up to even NPR 4 Lakhs. But here, we will be discussing the best budget laptops under 1 lakh in Nepal (NPR 1,00,000) only. In today’s fast-paced world, everyone is working on the go. Having a device that you can easily carry around in your backpack can have a significant impact on your overall productivity. This has caused a surge in demand for Ultrabooks.
The growing popularity of Ultrabooks has prompted smartphone brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi, and Realme to chime in on this market as well. Such devices used to be pretty expensive (the premium ones still are), but there are a lot more affordable options today. Here, we have prepared this list of the best budget laptops that you can buy in Nepal for under 1 lakh.
Admittedly, you can find even cheaper Ultrabooks on the market. However, most of them are pretty underpowered, feature relatively slow storage, and have a sub-par display. So, to meet the needs and budget, people are also opting for a second hand laptops in Nepal. Anyways, as you move to the 1 lakh category, performance will not be much of an issue, but there will still be slight compromises in areas like build quality, display standard, and such.
Note: We haven’t included gaming laptops in this list, find the best budget gaming laptops in Nepal here.

Best budget ultrabook laptops under 1 lakh in Nepal 2024:
8Asus Vivobook 15 (2022)
At spot number 5, we have our first Core i7 class processor of the bunch in the Vivobook 15 from Asus. Vivobook 15 (2022) brings a 10-core, 12-thread i7 1355U CPU with 8-core integrated Xe graphics. Besides that, you get 16 GB of RAM alongside a 1TB SSD.
The display is a 15.6-inch FHD+ panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, thin bezels, and 250 nits of brightness. The weight is also fairly manageable at around 1.7 kg and you get a decent keyboard, and trackpad combo with (digital) number pad. There’s also a fingerprint sensor alongside a physical privacy shutter for the webcam. These were some things to love about the Vivobook 15.
There are some cost cuttings that you have to deal with though. Firstly, the screen only covers 66% of the sRGB gamut so it’s not the most accurate out there. Moreover, a 42Wh battery isn’t going to cut it powering a larger 15.6″ laptop for a long period of time. The WiFi support is stuck at WiFi 5 and you only get a single stream card (802.11ac 1×1) so other laptops in this list might feel faster when browsing the web and loading things. With all that being said, it’s still a decent value for around 1 lakh rupees.

7Dell Inspiron 5545 (2024)
From HP’s Envy, we move on to one of Dell’s laptops — the 2024 edition of Inspiron 5000. You can get this laptop in Intel or the AMD variant. The Intel-powered version comes with the new Gen Intel Core 5 or Core 7 CPUs and bears the 5540 moniker while the Inspiron 5445 packs AMD’s Ryzen 8540U.
Other than this, the two models are practically the same. You get a 14-inch FHD+ screen, 54Wh battery, and the same design and build quality.

6HP Envy x360 (2024)
Let’s move to an HP Envy x360! HP’s Envy 14 brings a compact 2-in-1 form factor to the segment powered by either the Intel Core 5 120U or the Ryzen 8640HS from AMD. We recommend going with the latter for a snappier experience but saving some money with the Intel variant is fine as well. That is if you can find it with 16GB of RAM. The catch here is although the AMD version is a bit pricier, it’s still below the 1 lakh threshold and brings in 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory while the Intel model only ships with 8GB. Both have soldered memory so we recommend going with AMD for better value. For storage, there’s a 512GB M.2 drive in both machines.
The display, though touch-compatible, is fairly standard with its FHD+ resolution, and 300 nits of brightness. Where it does let down is in color coverage department with just 62% of the sRGB gamut. There’s a 59Wh battery, one USB-C port, and WiFi 6E support. Overall, it’s a very decent deal, but if you’re willing to shell out a little more, the next 2-in-1 entry on our list (at spot number 4) feels like a better choice.

5HP Pavilion 14 Plus (2023)
Well, if you are one of the lucky ones whose parents have promised a laptop after your graduation (check your Class 12 results), then you might want to consider this beautiful Pavilion 14 Plus for your pick.
It feels premium, provides above-average performance, and features a crisp display. The only reason it’s not number one is because of the super tough competition in this price bracket.
For starters, you get a high-res 2.2k IPS screen with full sRGB colors and a low-blue light filter. The processor is an Intel Core i5-1340P which is kind of a perfect choice for a CPU in an ultrabook. The 1340P is relatively powerful with its 4 performance cores but doesn’t exert as much endurance as an ‘H’ series would. But if you want more power, the i5-13500H is also available for around the same price.
Besides that, you get a well-deserved 16GB of memory alongside 512GB for storage. Even connectivity is up there with more expensive ultrabooks with a Thunderbolt 4 alongside an additional Type-C. You even get the faster WiFi 6E and modern Bluetooth 5.3.
You can even save some cash by going with the 2022 model with a Core i5-1240P instead.

4Lenovo Yoga 7 (2024)
Jumping back on the 2-in-1 train, we have the latest Lenovo Yoga 7 as one of our top picks for the best laptops under 1 lakh in Nepal. As opposed to the Envy, this guy sports an AMD chip – a fairly powerful yet efficient Ryzen 5 8640HS with 6 cores and 12 threads.
On top of that, you also get 45% NTSC colors, TUV Blue Light certification, and Dolby Vision support — all things that the Envy was missing. Moreover, Lenovo’s ‘Digital Pen’ is included with the purchase so you get additional usability as a tablet.
The rest of the things are pretty good too! You get a mostly aluminum build in a fairly portable package weighing less than 1.99 kilo and the endurance should be above average with its small screen and ~70Wh battery. You get two Type-C ports but both are limited to USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds, two USB-As, an HDMI, a micro Card reader, and a 3.5mm jack. Besides that, you get fast dual-band WiFi 6E support alongside Bluetooth 5.3.

3Macbook Air M1
Although it is nearly a five-year-old machine at this point, the Apple Macbook Air with M1 chipset is still a very good option for any light user looking for a fluid, lightweight, and long-lasting notebook for under 1 lakh rupees. The price has dropped significantly from its initial asking price, while the value has risen even more. The M1 silicon might not be the most powerful, but in terms of single-core performance (aka snappiness), it still trades blows with the Intel and AMD offerings in this list.
The battery life is still one of the best in the game in this price range since Lunar Lake and newer Strix Point APUs are quite expensive and scarce in the Nepalese market. The design is a bit outdated in terms of screen bezels, but the chassis is still a premium feeling with that Apple touch. The only downside might be the low amount of memory (8GB unified and 256GB SSD), which WILL limit you if you try to push the M1 too hard. All in all, you can’t go wrong with picking M1 even today.

2Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (2024)
One of the best non-gaming machines for everyday and office use that you can get under 1 lakh rupees in Nepal right now is the Zenbook 14 OLED from Asus. It’s got all the bells and whistles, spearheaded by Intel’s Meteor Lake Core Ultra 5 125H. The Zenbook is an Intel Evo machine that guarantees smooth performance and long-lasting battery life, both essential needs of a casual user.
The inbuilt Arc graphics is also powerful enough to handle light graphical needs like working in Photoshop from time to time or running a game or two in low-medium settings. Although one of our gripes with this machine is its 8GB of soldered LPDDR5x memory, we think it’s workable even in today’s day and age. Of course, we would heartily recommend you get a 16GB variant if possible but the Core Ultra 5 configuration is hard to come by with that much RAM. Regardless, all other aspects of the laptop are excellent including a 1200p OLED display with touch support, a backlit keyboard, a premium feeling build, a lightweight 1.2 kg chassis, and a large 75Wh battery. The best part is that the MRP of the laptop was much higher when it initially launched but now it’s available at a sweet discounted price.

1Acer Swift Go 14 (2023/2024)
Finally, the Acer Swift Go 14 is our top pick in this list of best laptops under 1 lakh in Nepal. If you’re looking for a thin and light laptop for everyday usage with a premium design, reliable performance, a gorgeous OLED display, and more, then there’s simply no option better than the Swift Go 14. Both 2023 and 2024 models are good value for the money, but we recommend going with the newer one as it’s not a lot more pricier.
Thanks to Intel’s powerful Core i5-13500H or Core Ultra 5 125H CPU inside, everyday performance is incredibly smooth on this guy. There’s also 16GB of RAM onboard so multitasking isn’t going to be a trouble either. It also has a beautiful 90Hz OLED display with excellent color accuracy and brightness levels. And the best part is that the Acer Swift Go 14 is also super lightweight at just 1.25 kg, making it a great choice for students, programmers, graphic designers, and just casual users.
Moreover, if the tag is a bit pricey for you, you can instead opt for the non-OLED version with a Ryzen 5 processor for around 90,000 rupees.
