Vivo has added another battery-focused smartphone to its Y-series lineup in China. The company has officially launched the new Vivo Y600i, featuring an 8,000mAh battery and a large 6.87-inch display.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y600i has a fairly familiar Y-series design, featuring a micro-curved anti-fingerprint frame and an aerospace-grade aluminum camera deco. It measures 169.55 × 79.20 × 8.79mm and weighs around 229 grams, which is quite reasonable considering the phone packs an 8,000mAh battery. It is available in Stardust, Sky Blue, and Midnight Black.

For durability, the phone comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with an SGS five-star drop-resistance certification.

Up front, the Y600i sports a large 6.87-inch LCD display with 1592 × 720-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate should make everyday scrolling and animations feel smoother, while the 1,300-nit HBM brightness can help with visibility when using the phone outdoors. It also supports DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland-certified low-blue-light protection, which are aimed at making the display more comfortable for longer viewing sessions.

Performance and UI

Performance is one area where the Vivo Y600i doesn’t bring much of an upgrade. It is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the same chipset used in the Y500i. It should handle everyday tasks such as browsing, social media, streaming, and casual gaming without much trouble, although demanding games and heavier workloads are not its strong suit.

The chipset is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Vivo also supports up to 12GB of extended RAM through its memory-fusion feature, while storage can be expanded by up to 2TB via a microSD card.

On the software side, the Y600i boots OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. It also gets Atomic Motion Effects 6.0, which is designed to make switching between apps and swiping through screens feel smoother. Vivo claims up to 50 months of long-term smoothness through its Blue River Fluency Engine and memory optimization.

Cameras

The camera setup on the Vivo Y600i is fairly straightforward. It gets a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, paired with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. The wider f/1.8 aperture on the main sensor should help it capture more light in darker scenes, although the overall setup is still geared toward basic everyday photography rather than versatility.

There’s no ultra-wide or telephoto camera here, but Vivo does include features such as Portrait Mode, Dynamic Photo, and a watermark camera that can add details like the shooting location and time.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is clearly the Y600i’s biggest highlight. Vivo has fitted the phone with a massive 8,000mAh battery, up from the 7,200mAh cell on the Y500i. It supports 44W wired charging and also offers wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to act as a power source for other compatible devices.

Vivo claims up to 25 hours of short-video playback, 16 hours of continuous navigation, and 57 hours of music playback under its laboratory testing conditions. The company also says the battery can retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,500 charging cycles.

For a phone in this segment, the combination of a large battery and relatively modest Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 hardware should make endurance one of the Y600i's key strengths.

Vivo Y600i Price in Nepal and Availability

The Vivo Y600i is priced at CNY 1,699 for the base 6/128GB model, while the 6/256GB variant costs CNY 1,999 in China. Official sales are set to begin on September 30, 2026. As of now, Vivo has not announced a Nepal launch, so the Nepal pricing remains unconfirmed. If the phone launches here, we expect the Vivo Y600i price in Nepal to start at NPR 38,999.
