Samsung reserves the “FE” name in its devices for semi-flagship products. Here the South Korean brand makes necessary compromises to provide an overall flagship experience in a more affordable price tag. Given that, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE is a semi-flagship earbuds that launched on 4 October 2023.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE comes in an in-ear stemless design with silicone tips for a comfortable fit. The standout feature here design-wise is that the buds here have a “wingtip design”. As such, the earbuds here have a small protrusion like sharkfin on the top. This isn’t the first time we have seen design — even from Samsung themselves. The earbuds look quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Buds except for a plateau-like body.

The charging case here is also different with a more squircle approach and measuring 50.00 x 50.00 x 27.50 mm in dimensions. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE comes with IPX2 splash resistance. It comes in two colour options: Graphite, and White.

Audio and the rest

For audio, these earbuds come with a single-way 6.5mm driver. In the meantime, it also has three microphones including two outer ones and one inner mic. With this, these earbuds offer active noise cancellation as well as an ambient mode. Additionally, it comes with Bluetooth v5.2 for wireless connectivity. As such, it is compatible with Android, iOS, and devices running on Windows 10.

Powering the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE is 60mAh batteries while the case packs 479mAh cells for additional power. With this, the earbuds are capable of offering 6 hours of usage with ANC on. The number goes up to 21 hours when factoring in the case. Similarly, the earbuds offer 8 hours of usage (30 hours with the case) when you turn off the ANC.
