The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus stands out with its premium design, excellent display quality, and long-lasting battery life. Gaming performance is only average for the price, and the lack of a telephoto camera feels like a missed opportunity. Overall, it’s a well-balanced phone best suited for everyday users rather than performance-focused gamers.
The latest Redmi phones have finally arrived, and I’ve been spending some time with the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus, the most premium model in the Note 15 series. Redmi has launched four phones this time: the Note 15 4G, Note 15 5G, Note 15 Pro 5G, and the Note 15 Pro Plus. But in this review, I’m focusing only on the top-of-the-line model.

Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review:
Price and Availability
First, let me talk about pricing. This year, I’ve noticed that smartphone prices have increased across the board, mainly because RAM and storage prices have gone up globally. So yes, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is more expensive than before. But this trend is gonna spread across all upcoming smartphones, so I can't complain much.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The Redmi Note series has always been extremely popular in Nepal, and from my experience, it’s because Redmi usually offers a good balance of features at a mid-range price. Earlier, I used to associate Redmi phones with aggressive performance and crazy specs, but over the last two to three years, I’ve clearly seen Xiaomi change its strategy.
With the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus, I feel that Xiaomi has shifted its focus toward design and durability, and that’s something I noticed immediately.
Design and Build Quality
Design is honestly one of my favorite things about this phone. I really like the leather back finish, and when I hold the phone in my hand, it genuinely feels premium. Even though the phone packs a massive 6,500mAh battery, I didn’t find it heavy at all.
I’ve also seen a lot of durability-focused marketing around this phone, and after using it, I can say Xiaomi has taken this seriously. With Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, 2.5m drop resistance, and IP68K and IP69K ratings, I feel confident that this phone is built to last for years.
Display Experience
The display is easily one of the best I’ve seen in this price range. I really like the colors, the contrast, and the overall sharpness. What impressed me most was the 12-bit panel, which you usually don’t see in this segment.

I watched a lot of content on YouTube and Netflix, and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ worked perfectly. The 3840Hz PWM dimming also helped reduce eye strain for me during night usage. Compared to the Note 14 Pro Plus, I definitely noticed higher peak brightness. Overall, I don’t really have any complaints about the display.

Likewise, the stereo speakers are good. I wouldn’t call them the loudest in the segment, but from my experience, they’re clear, balanced, and perfectly fine for daily use.
Performance and Gaming
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, which I’d say is only a minor upgrade over the previous generation. In daily use, I found the phone to be fast and smooth. I didn’t experience any noticeable lag or stutter, and HyperOS feels well optimized.

That said, I don’t think this phone is meant for hardcore performance users anymore. When I tested gaming, PUBG was limited to 60fps, and Genshin Impact hovered around 30fps. So yes, I personally feel that this isn’t the fastest phone in this price range.
On top of that, the phone still uses UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4X RAM, which I think is slightly disappointing for a 2026 device. If you’re someone who prioritizes raw performance, I’d suggest waiting for phones like the upcoming Poco F7 or the Infinix GT 50 Pro.
Software Experience
One thing I wasn’t very happy about is the software version. The phone still runs on Android 15, and I personally feel it should have launched with Android 16. Xiaomi promises four years of updates, and HyperOS is well optimized, but starting with the latest Android version would have been better.
Camera Performance
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus comes with a 200MP Samsung HP-E sensor, which is new this year.

Display
I tested the camera in various lighting conditions, and in good light, I found the photos to be sharp, bright, and detailed.
I also felt that color optimization has improved compared to previous Redmi phones, and the shutter speed feels faster this time.
Ultrawide
The 8MP ultra-wide camera is decent, but from my usage, I found the sharpness and dynamic range to be just average when compared to the main camera.
Selfies and Portraits
The selfie camera has been upgraded to 32MP, and from my experience, selfies look good. Skin tones look natural, details are decent, and thankfully, they’re not overly contrasty like before.
Portrait photos are taken using the main camera, and there’s also a 2x option. However, I personally missed having a telephoto lens. At this price point, I really feel a 3x telephoto camera should have been included.
Video Recording
When it comes to video, I found the main camera’s 4K 30fps footage to be quite good. The ultra-wide camera is limited to 1080p 30fps, which feels a bit restrictive. Selfie video is capped at 1080p 60fps, and honestly, I wasn’t very impressed by its quality.
Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Review: Conclusion
Overall, for the Nepalese market, I think the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus is a well-balanced phone. I really like the improvements in design, display, and battery life, and those are the areas where I feel Redmi has made the biggest progress.

However, I don’t think this phone is meant for serious gamers, and the absence of a telephoto camera is a noticeable miss for me. Yes, the price might feel high to some people, but from what I’m seeing, smartphone prices are only going to rise in 2026. From my overall experience, I enjoyed using this phone. It’s not perfect, but for everyday use and casual gaming, I think it delivers a solid and premium experience.
