The Redmi Pad 2 is a mid-range Nepal tablet with a 2.5K 11-inch display, 90Hz refresh rate, and a solid metal unibody.

Xiaomi has launched its latest mid-range tablet, the Redmi Pad 2, in Nepal. This new tablet is the successor to the original Redmi Pad (review) and features some upgrades in performance and display. In this article, let’s explore all the specs and features of the Redmi Pad 2, including its official price in Nepal.
Redmi Pad 2 Overview:
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the new Redmi Pad 2 features a metal unibody. It feels like a solid build in my hand, unlike the plastic body you usually find in budget tablets. It features a pill-shaped vertical camera layout on the back, with a clean matte rear. The volume rockers are on the right, while the bottom side houses a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A nice add-on for audiophiles.

In terms of display, the Redmi Pad 2 flaunts an 11-inch 2.5K display. It boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 274 PPI. With this result, I found the movie-watching experience to be pretty great. The speakers are loud too, so, it's a treat. It also supports a 90Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and reaches up to 600 nits of brightness in outdoor mode, which ensures smooth scrolling and good visibility under sunlight. On top of that, Xiaomi has equipped it with DC dimming and triple TÜV Rheinland certifications — Low Blue Light (Software), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly — for all-day eye comfort.
Performance
Powering everything from the core is the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra chip, a 6nm processor with a 2x Cortex-A76 and 6x Cortex-A55 configuration and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This is not a significant improvement over the Redmi Pad with Helio G99. In my experience, day-to-day performance felt smooth for the basics. Browsing with multiple Chrome tabs open, streaming YouTube in 1080p, switching between Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, everything ran without stutters. The UI animations on HyperOS 2 felt fluid, and app launches were reasonably quick. Redmi has paired the chip with up to 8GB of LPDDR$X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Software-wise, the tab boots on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, built on top of Android 15.

Camera and Extras
In terms of cameras, it flaunts an 8MP rear unit with a f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front unit for taking selfies and video calls. From my experience with similar setups in this segment, the rear camera is more of a document scanner and quick snap tool than a photography powerhouse. Scanning notes, capturing whiteboard content, or taking a quick photo in good daylight works fine. Meanwhile, fueling this slate is a 9000mAh battery, with an 18W charging support, but Xiaomi ships it with a 15W charger in the box. It can last 2 days on a moderate usage.

Talking of the connectivity features, it includes WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. You get a quad speaker setup powered by Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos. Furthermore, the accessory options consist of the Redmi Smart Pen, Cover, and Screen Protector.
Should you buy the Redmi Pad 2 in Nepal?
Yes, I think the Redmi Pad 2 makes a lot of sense in Nepal if your priority is media consumption and everyday reliability. In my experience, the 11-inch 2.5K display is the real star here. Watching movies and YouTube felt immersive; the 90Hz refresh rate made scrolling smoother than typical budget tablets, and the quad speakers added that extra punch. The 9000 mAh battery is dependable and easily lasts more than a full day of browsing, streaming, and light gaming.

However, I would not recommend it for heavy gamers or power users. In my usage, the Helio G100-Ultra handled daily tasks smoothly, but it is not built for high graphics gaming or intensive multitasking. The cameras are functional for video calls and scanning documents, nothing more. Overall, based on my experience, if you want a well-built tablet with a great display and long battery life at a reasonable price, the Redmi Pad 2 is a safe and practical choice in Nepal.
