Xiaomi has just unveiled its latest budget-friendly projector under the Redmi lineup in China. And despite its budget price, the Redmi Projector 3 Lite brings a ton of interesting features which is hard to believe in this segment. Build and design

The Redmi Projector 3 Lite has a minimalist look with a lightweight and compact design, weighing 1.2 kg. Whereas its compact size — measuring 146 × 113 × 172.5 mm — also makes it convenient for carrying around. The matte finish and rounded corners help it blend with home decor as well. As you can see, the Redmi Projector 3 Lite's lens sits in the middle. While Xiaomi has included a ventilation on the side for heat dissipation. You can control this projector with a Bluetooth remote, which also supports voice commands for hands-free navigation. Most other news outlets mention that this thing doesn't have built-in speakers, meaning you'll need to set up your audio externally via Bluetooth or a wired channel using the headphone jack. Although its official Chinese landing page does hint at what could be a built-in speaker with 5W of output.

Display and projection features

At the core the Redmi Projector 3 Lite comes with a fully sealed optical engine and full-glass lens which provides side projection up to a 20° angle without sacrificing much quality. It features native 1080p resolution and 180 CVIA lumens of brightness which is ideal for dark or dimly lit environments. The projector possesses a 1.2:1 throw ratio capable of projecting up to a 100-inch screen from a relatively small distance. Additionally, it incorporates SGS certification of low blue light that eliminates harmful wavelengths (415 – 455 nm) and minimizes eye fatigue over a long duration.

Performance and smart features

Under the hood, the projector runs on an Amlogic T950S quad-core chip running at 1.5GHz, coupled with 1GB of memory and 32GB of storage. That's pretty decent for a budget projector. On top of this, the Redmi Projector 3 Lite supports Xiaomi's "HyperOS Connect" platform for smart connectivity with other Xiaomi devices. This projector also features a custom ToF (Time of Flight) sensor, which works next to an AI algorithm for better auto-focus and keystone correction. In terms of I/O, the Redmi Projector 3 Lite has one HDMI port with ARC, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Alongside dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity for wireless screen mirroring.
