Design and Display
RedmiBook 14 2020 doesn’t look any different than its predecessor. You may say both of them have been heavily inspired by Apple’s MacBook Pro. It comes with a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The bezels around the screen are slim, contributing to the 90.6% screen to body ratio.
It features an all-metal body with a toy-textured finish on top. Its light at 1.2 kg and is available in Moonlight Silver.
Performance and Memory
Redmi has been tight-lipped about the exact chipset use in the device. But it will be one of the AMD’s Ryzen 4000U mobile chipsets. The chipsets are based on AMD’s Zen 2 architecture and manufactured using the 7nm process. It features a Ryzen 5 processor, most probably one of R5 4500U and R5 4600U. The processor will come with one of AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics.
The Redmibook 14 2020 will have up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 512 GB Solid State Drive for storage. You also get three performance modes that you can toggle between using the Fn + K combination.
Cooling
Redmi 14 2020 features heat pipes of 8mm diameter, which can increase the heat transfer by about 35% compared to heat pipes with 6mm diameter. Redmi has also increased the fan size on this one. The new Ryzen 14 comes with 30% lager fans. With a larger fans, the device manages to push out 22% more air volume even when the speed is reduced by 6%. Thus, you get both quiet and efficient cooling.
Battery
RedmiBook 14 gets its juice from its 48Whr battery, which the company claims, can offer up to 11 hours of battery life. It will feature a 65W mini power adapter that supports IC fast charging. The mini adapter makes it easy for users to carry the laptop around without having to fit the bulky wires with it. The fast charging technology can charge the device up to 50% within 33 minutes.
Redmi has included a 2 x 2 MIMO dual-antenna connection for a faster and stable WiFi network. You also get professional stereo experience with DTS sound.
