Samsung just launched a new addition to the M-series in India which is pretty much a repackaging of the Galaxy A05 — the predecessor of the Galaxy A06, which went live in Nepal just a few days ago. Let’s discuss the Samsung Galaxy M05 further in this article, including its expected price in Nepal.
Samsung Galaxy M05 Overview
Design and Display
There isn’t much to talk about regarding the design of Samsung phones these days. The company has settled with the “Signature Galaxy” and applies the same blueprint across the board. While that may be true, there are nuances to separate their different offerings. In this case, the Samsung Galaxy M05 takes a monotone approach with a slightly grainy/glittery-ish finish. In contrast, its A-series counterpart has linear patterns on the back. Furthermore, it is available in a single colour only i.e. Light Blue.
The front of the Samsung Galaxy M05 is the same as the A05. Given that, it dons a 6.74-inch PLS LCD panel. It stretches HD+ in resolution and offers a standard 60Hz refresh rate and colour depth of 16 million.
Performance
Under the hood, it packs the MediaTek Helio G85 processor with eight cores, 12nm fabbing, and a peak frequency of 2.0GHz. The Samsung Galaxy M05 ships in a single configuration of 4GB memory and 64GB storage. The storage is nowhere near enough by the 2024 standard, that’s why the South Korean tech giant has equipped this phone with a MicroSD card slot with up to 1TB support. You also get an option to expand the memory by an additional 4GB virtually.
Software-wise, the Samsung Galaxy M05 boots on OneUI 6.0 based on Android 14. Moreover, it will receive two years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

Camera and the rest
In terms of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy M05 carries three units. The primary of which is a 50MP shooter. It is coupled with a 2MP depth sensor at the back. Meanwhile, it has an 8MP snapper on the front which doubles down as a face scanner. Likewise, the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the power button for additional biometrics.
Powering everything is a 5,000 mAh battery, which is in contrast to the 6,000 mAh capacity the M-series usually gets. However, it is not totally surprising shift either because the highest offering of the series — Galaxy M55 also packs a 5,000 mAh cell. This phone supports charging of up to 25W through the USB 2.0 Type-C interface. The Samsung Galaxy M05 also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
