Samsung just launched a new Galaxy A55 5G variant with a QRNG chip that uses entropy for your data security. What does that mean? Well, let’s discuss more about the Samsung Galaxy Quantum5, the QRNG chip, the Quantum Physic and entropy stuff, and finally what its price in Nepal might be in this article.
Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 Overview
QNRG Chip
The main highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 is that it is equipped with the ID Quantique (IDQ)’s SKT S2Q000 chip. This chip is a QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) and generates full entropy. In other words, it produces fully unpredictable and truly random numbers. Quantum-based random numbers can be generated in multiple ways and IDQ utilises photon counting solutions for this purpose.
Basically, the global leader in quantum cybersecurity uses photons of light or lasers to generate a number. It then uses that number for encryption and decryption of data like biometrics and passwords.
What does all this mean to you?
Using a quantum-based random number ensures nigh-unbreachable security even in the future. You must have at least heard about quantum computers. It is a type of computer that can process vast amounts of data extremely fast. Given that, one of its major uses is decoding cryptography.
This means the conventional methods of random number generation break down when quantum computers get involved. They can figure out the algorithms used by such RNG without much issue. However, the same cannot be said for quantum-based random numbers. Hence, using a QRNG on Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 pretty much guarantees that no one can hack your valuable data even by using a quantum computer.
Let’s be real, no one will actually try to extract your data with a quantum computer. At least, not anytime soon. Therefore, it is primarily about having peace of mind that your phone is an impenetrable fortress.

Apart from the fancy QRNG chip, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 is the same as the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G. It comes with flat aluminium frames and Gorilla Glass protection on the front as well as the back. It has the Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front which is one of the newer iterations of the hardened glass. Meanwhile, the screen here is a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel offering FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,000 nits of peak brightness.
Inside it has the in-house Exynos 1480 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 packs a 5,000 mAh battery for power and supports 25W charging speed. Camera-wise, it has three on the back comprising of a 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro. Likewise, it has a 32MP shooter on the front for selfie and face scanning. The fingerprint sensor sits underneath the display. All this comes in an IP67-rated dust and water-tight body available in Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy colour options.

Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 Price in Nepal and Availability
This phone was brought in collaboration with SK Telecom. As a result, it is exclusive to South Korea. It went live on 28 August 2024 and is selling for KRW 618,200. As I mentioned earlier, it is a Korea-only product and won’t be available elsewhere. But if somehow it drifted its way here, we expect the Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 price in Nepal to be NPR 74,499.
Samsung Galaxy Quantum5 | Price in South Korea (Official) | Price in Nepal (Expected) |
8GB + 128GB | KRW 618,200 | NPR 74,499 |
