Samsung has released a demo video for the privacy protection feature on the S26 Ultra.

Reports that the S26 Ultra features a built-in privacy protection have circulated for months. It was widely speculated until yesterday, when Samsung officially released a demo video. In this piece, we'll discuss the privacy display feature of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display Overview:
Demo Video
In a short demo video, Samsung showcases its new “Zero-peeking” privacy feature in action. When enabled, the display appears completely black to anyone looking at it from the side. From the user’s direct viewpoint, however, everything remains perfectly clear and readable.

It’s not just a blanket screen dimmer. The technology reportedly works at the pixel level, allowing the phone to selectively block sensitive content. That means notifications containing private information can be blacked out from side angles, while the rest of the screen remains visible. It’s privacy that adapts in real time — not just a simple on-or-off filter.
Full Control Or Let the Phone Decide
Samsung isn’t forcing users into a single mode of operation. You’ll be able to toggle the feature manually whenever you want. But there’s also an automatic option: the phone can detect certain environments, such as when you step outside, and enable privacy mode automatically.

This flexibility makes the feature practical for everyday life. Whether you’re commuting, working in a café, or checking messages in a crowded elevator, the phone can help shield your screen from prying eyes.

How It Compares to Existing Laptop Privacy Tech
Privacy screens are not a new concept. Some laptops already feature integrated solutions, such as HP's Sure View and Lenovo's PrivacyGuard. However, these are usually applied to the entire display, so you can only turn on or off privacy mode for the entire screen.
Samsung’s per-pixel method differs by allowing targeting specific areas, such as notifications, rather than dimming the entire display. This more precise control could greatly enhance usability.
Launch Date
The Galaxy S26 series is scheduled to be unveiled on February 25. Samsung has already opened reservations, offering a small discount incentive for early adopters.
While other upgrades, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and faster charging, are expected for the S26 Ultra, the privacy display may become one of its most talked-about features, especially if it performs as seamlessly in real-world use as it does in the demo.
