Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ and S12 Ultra leaks reveal specs, features, and launch details

Samsung is preparing its next generation of flagship tablets, and the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra have now appeared in leaked renders. The images offer an early look at the tablets’ front designs, while previous leaks have already revealed details about their displays, batteries, chipset, and connectivity. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series Overview

Design and Display

The latest leaked renders give us our first look at the front of both upcoming tablets. According to the leak, the Galaxy Tab S12+ appears to feature a conventional front-facing camera positioned within the upper display bezel. It also seems to have slightly thicker bezels than the Ultra model.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra appears to retain Samsung’s distinctive display notch for the front-facing camera. This would make the design very similar to the current Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra rather than introducing a major redesign. Earlier leaked renders also suggested that Samsung would continue using the V-shaped notch on the Ultra.

As for the displays, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 12.4-inch OLED panel, while the Tab S12 Ultra could retain the massive 14.6-inch OLED display. Both are expected to support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The Galaxy Tab S12 series is also expected to feature S Pen support, an in-display fingerprint reader, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Performance and Software

The Galaxy Tab S12 series is rumored to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, although Samsung has yet to confirm the processor details. Built on a 3nm process, the chip could bring a notable performance and efficiency upgrade over the previous generation. They could also feature 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage. Both devices are expected to include a microSDXC card slot for storage expansion.

On the software side, the tablets are expected to ship with Android 17-based One UI 9.0. Samsung could also offer up to seven generations of Android OS upgrades, alongside long-term security updates.

Battery and Connectivity

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 10,500mAh –10,600mAh battery, up from its predecessor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could retain the 11,600mAh battery from the Tab S11 Ultra.

For connectivity, the cellular Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to support 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and GNSS. The Galaxy Tab S12 series could also support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and USB 3.2 Type-C, although availability may vary by model and configuration.

Samsung has not announced an exact launch date or pricing for the Galaxy Tab S12 series yet. However, multiple reports point toward a September 2026 launch for the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 is part of its premium product lineup planned for the second half of 2026, adding some weight to the expected launch timeframe.

As for the price, the Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to sit in Samsung's flagship tablet segment. However, there is currently no reliable information about the price or availability of the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra in Nepal.
