The Tecno Camon 50 Pro receives a Telephoto camera as well!
Tecno has officially launched the Camon 50 Pro in Kenya alongside the regular Camon 50. There isn’t much difference between these two phones, but the Pro model brings a curved display, more storage, and an upgraded camera system. Display and Design
The Camon 50 Pro has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The curve has a swan-like silhouette and measures 43.5°. In contrast, the regular Camon 50 only has a flat screen.
The phone is very lightweight and comes in six colors, including Moonlight Black, Malachite Green, Nebula Titanium, Fir Green, Lavender Mist, and Ethereal Blue. Like the Camon 50, the Camon 50 Pro also has IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance and passes MIL-STD-810 durability tests.
Performance and Battery
The 50 Pro didn’t include a better chipset and features the same MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate as you’d find in the regular Camon 50. While it is also paired with 8GB RAM, the Pro model instead doubles the base storage to 256GB, while the standard version has 128GB.
But the battery size is similar at 6,150mAh with 45W fast charging, and Tecno claims durability for over five years. The Pro model also has an advanced cooling system with a 12-layer graphite structure and 1,800 W/mK thermal conductivity. According to Tecno, the AI game engine optimization supports games like PUBG, MLBB, FreeFire, and COD.

Camera System
The Camon 50 Pro has a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C Ultra Night Camera with OIS, a 50MP 3X periscope telephoto lens with OIS, and finally an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
The standard Camon 50 just keeps a dual rear setup, and drops the telephoto lens. Both phones share a 32MP front camera with studio-level tone and support AI features like 60X Super Zoom, FlashSnap Super Zoom, AI Auto Zoom, Live Photo Mode, and AI LightMaster 2.0.
Other than that, you get additional features like Water Mode for 2 meters up to 30 minutes, One-Tap FlashMemo, and PhotoSpace 3D for AI-powered video generation from images.
Connectivity and Extras
Connectivity is pretty standard, and you will find the same support in the regular Camon 50 as well. Because of its SoC, you might already know that it cannot support 5G. Sensors are also quite typical, featuring ambient light, proximity, compass, geomagnetic sensor, and A+G sensor.
You will find audio coming from dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Other than that, you will get extra features like the One-Tap TECNO AI key, TECNO AI Cloud with 50GB free storage per year for three years, 3D live wallpapers, a dynamic home screen, and a find-my-phone offline feature via the Geniex network.

Should you buy the Tecno Camon 50 Pro in Nepal?
If it lands here, the Pro model looks pretty solid, especially for its telephoto camera, curved displays, and storage. But it will also depend on the price. If it costs beyond 40k when it makes it here, then that deal would not be worth it.
