Vivo's just dropped the S50 alongside the more compact S50 Pro Mini, and this one is the more affordable option in the lineup. The S50 gets last year's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip instead of the flagship processor, but it still packs a massive 6,500mAh battery and a periscope telephoto camera. Now, let's jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Vivo S50, including its specifications, and when (or if) we might see it in Nepal.
Vivo S50 Overview
Design and Display

The S50's design is pretty much lifted from the iPhone 16 Pro—flat front and rear panels with rounded corners. Vivo's used an aerospace-grade metal frame, and the camera island follows that familiar triangular setup housed in a square bump with subtly rounded corners.
Display-wise, you're getting a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (2,750 x 1,260 pixels). It refreshes at 120Hz, has 4,320Hz PWM dimming, and can hit up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. There's also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor baked into the display. The S50 comes in Space Black, Confession White, Serene Blue, and Inspirational Purple.
Performance
Under the hood, the S50 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This isn't the latest chip (it's from last year), but it sits just below the top-tier flagship processors. It's paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The S50 Pro Mini gets the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so there's a clear hierarchy. But the 8s Gen 3 is by no means a weak processor, and considering the price bracket, i think it's a reasonable choice by Vivo.
Camera System

The S50 packs a triple rear camera setup. You've got a 50MP main sensor with f/1.88 aperture and OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (f/2.65), and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 110-degree field of view (f/2.2). Up front, there's a 50MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.

Battery and Charging
The S50 houses a standard 6,500mAh battery while supporting a 90W wired fast charging. That's also the same battery size as the S50 Pro Mini. Similarly, it comes with Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6, stereo speakers, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
