Xiaomi launched the Pad 8 alongside the Xiaomi 17 series at Lei Jun’s Annual Speech 2025 in Beijing. This is their latest attempt at the mid-range tablet market, sitting below the more expensive Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro. The regular Pad 8 features many thing similar to the expensive 8 Pro. Now, let’s jump in this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Xiaomi Pad 8, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Overview
Display and Design
The 11.2-inch LCD display uses a 3200 × 2136 pixel resolution. The tablet features 3:2 aspect ratio instead of 16:10 ratios found in most Android tablets use. You get a 144Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid support.
The display gets full DC dimming, whose point is to reduce flicker and eye strain during long usage. There’s also a matte edition available with AG textured coating that cuts reflections by up to 70%. The tablet measures 5.75mm slim and weighs around 485g.
You get three color options – Black, Ice Crystal Blue, and Turquoise Green. The build quality looks solid with what appears to be an aluminum frame, though Xiaomi hasn’t detailed the exact materials used.
Performance
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 sits between mid-range and flagship territory. It’s not the 8 Elite chip that the Pad 8 Pro gets, but the 8s gen 4 is tried chipset that can handle everything thrown at it. RAM options go from 8GB to 12GB with LPDDR5x memory, while storage caps at 256GB using UFS 3.1. The Pro model will get you a faster UFS 4.1 storage and up to 16GB RAM.
The tablet runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3, same as the new phone lineup. Xiaomi’s included PC-grade productivity tools like WPS Office and CAD support as well.
Camera
The camera setup is pretty basic as they come in tablets – 13MP rear and 8MP front cameras. These are clearly cost-cutting measures compared to the Pro’s 50MP rear and 32MP front sensors. But honestly, tablet cameras are usually terrible anyway, so this might not matter unless you’re planning to use it as a giant phone for video calls.
Battery and Charging
The 9,200mAh battery matches the Pro model, which is really impressive for the lower-priced version. However, charging is limited to 45W compared to the Pro’s 67W. Xiaomi hasn’t released specific battery life estimates, but 9,200mAh in a tablet should easily last a full day of heavy use or multiple days of light usage.

Audio and Input
Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos are also here and it should provide decent audio for media consumption. Four microphones suggest good call quality and voice recognition performance. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner doubles as the power button. You also get support for the Xiaomi Focus Touch Pen Pro and magnetic keyboard, though these are sold separately.
Connectivity features are standard as they come with WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster as well. Meanwhile, Xiaomi also added a flicker sensor and color-temperature sensor.
